Hotel Residence 9 — Hotel in Krakow

I wanted to be in the middle of Old Town and that is why I choose this hotel. On the way from airport our taxi driver is telling me how busy Szewska str. is with old vodka and beer night life, it made me little worry about noice. We asked our host Marek for quite room and it was great courtyard facing super quite room. Hotel is completely redone old building with small glass elevator in courtyard. Hotel is very secure ( so secure that we could get in when arrived, not seeing a button to push on the top of key pad). Room was very spacious with table and chairs to sit and desk. It also has a A/C which was a big plus in this hot summer time.Wifi was great. The only complain I have was the bed very firm, for someone with back problems I founded it a little too firm. Marek was very attentive, we had fresh eggs made to order for breakfast and many other good choices. Wonderful espresso for coffee.||Marek was very helpful in getting us set up with taxi for very early flight out and we had 2 lunches packed in refrigerator to go with us. Night life outside doors was unreal, when we were leaving at 4 am to airport there was some many young drunk people on street that was somewhat concerning about polish drinking. ||Hotel great and will come back just...

The location of Residence 9 was perfect for a tour of the old town but unfortunately very noisy if they have a musical performance in the Main Square - which they did on two nights of our stay ! The Hotel provides the sort of earplugs you receive on an aeroplane, but these are totally inadequate for the level of noise generated outside. The rooms were fine , although we had trouble with our air conditioner for the first two nights, which contributed to our discomfort. The carpets need a good industrial clean, and while we anticipated that the room would be cleaned on a daily basis, this did not happen. You receive complementary water on your arrival, but thereafter you are expected to use the tapwater. The tea and kettle provided in the room is a great help and the bathroom and the bedroom where otherwise clean and comfortable. The bistro downstairs was perfect for breakfast, and the food was very tasty and the staff particularly friendly. It is a shame that the outside bistro in the garden is not staffed on a full-time basis as we would certainly have spent more time there had...

Our extended family group stayed at Residence 9 for 4 days, the day after they opened in July 2016. In fact, they hadn't "officially" opened but it was getting late in the day when we went knocking so the owners took our group of 5 . We were welcomed in like family. We occupied 3 apartments which are very comfortable , although the rooms had yet to have installed a television or refrigerator this did not detract from our stay. The bathrooms are high spec as are all the rooms & facilities. The breakfast was extensive with local products and the coffee machine ran non stop for us. Very well located within the Old Town just off the square and we didn't have any problem parking our rental car around the street at night.
