This is going to be a long review, so buckle your seatbelts.
I’m in Coimbra for work. I’m a dumb American and I tried to find some place to eat after 1030 pm. I tried a few places around Coimbra but I was unable to find someplace to eat. I decided to wander back to my hotel and I stumbled upon this place at 1058 pm. I was trying to read the hours and a gentleman told me I could go inside to order.
I grabbed a menu and just pointed to a kebab, but being tired and hungry I was not paying attention. As they were cleaning up and did not have the kebab ready. Instead, They pointed to a burger item on the menu, I pointed to the combo option as asked for a beer. They asked if I could drink the beer in five minutes and I shook my head yes. After some chatter between the employees, they told me I could stay and eat instead of taking it to go (which I would have been 1000% fine with).
I sat down and realized by this time (about 1110) that they closed at 11. I felt awful at this point for walking in past closing and went back to the counter. I told them that they could make it to go and I could leave so they could close. He (I think the owner) told me to take my time. I did not want to linger so a few moments later my food was brought to me and I ate it.
The burger was delicious and fresh and was more than plenty to feed me. It was also hot, along with the fries. I quickly ate and thanked them again for their service and hospitality.
These men could have easily turned me away or not served me any food and that would have been absolutely reasonable given the circumstances. I am hoping I get some time during my trip to go back and try their other foods. I cannot say enough amazing things about this establishment.
If you’re reading this, thank you so much from a very tired and previously very hungry stranger. You made my day and I appreciate you more than I can verbally express. Thank you for...

I tried the pan-seared salmon, which was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a delightful lemon-butter sauce that enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. The truffle fries were a perfect side, crispy and seasoned just right. For dessert, the molten chocolate lava cake was a rich, indulgent treat, with the warm chocolate oozing from the center, paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The only downside was the portion size of some dishes. While the quality was superb, a few dishes could have been more generous, especially given the pricing. However, the flavors and presentation more than made up for this minor issue.
Staff: The staff at The Bistro Corner were top-notch. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our glasses were always full and checking in on us at just the right moments. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations, and handled our special requests with ease. The atmosphere was made even more pleasant by the genuinely friendly attitude of the team. The kitchen staff even accommodated a special dietary request with care, which was much appreciated.
The Bistro Corner offers a fantastic dining experience with delicious food and attentive service. While the portion sizes might leave some wanting more, the overall quality and excellent staff make it well...
Read moreFood is okay, for sure not the best kebap but I am from Germany, and the Döner was found in Berlin. BUT….. here my review about the surroundings: there were some black guys sitting outside, one or both of them were drug dealer who would chill around the corner….. I saw some other young girl (obviously drug addictive) who was asking people for money… one of these drug dealer beat the crap out of her, just next to the restaurant….. I mean, these guys know the restaurant and the owners, they were chilling there as well… in the end I am not sure if they have anything to do with them, it‘s also not my business but: you should not serve food or drinks to drug dealer who beat women like they are a bug or worth less than a bug….
I can not recommend this place, you won‘t be happy to eat your food while some young girl who has a beaten up face runs around and gets beaten by these guys again and again….
EDIT: To the answer they gave; sure, you provide service to everyone, and by law Portugal will force you to provide service to somwone who is criminal and beats other women….. 😄😄😄 keep believing your own lies. You greeted all of these shady folks yourself…. We have...
