Four of us stopped here fof coffee after arriving in Coimbra..... we would have visited again, had we not been ripped off and overcharged 😠... We have experienced this practice time after time. We are residents in Portugal, and have lived here for 10 years. We are sick and tired of the practice of being overcharged because we are English, even though we ordered and spoke in Portuguese. When we questioned why our coffees cost €2.35 (extortionate for a café meio de leite), when the price list said €1.60, were were told they were large.... they were regular small coffee cups! When we politely expressed we were unhappy, we were ignored, and the waitress simply walked off.... Rude. OUR RECOMMENDATION... Go elsewhere... There are plenty of other cafés in Coimbra. We have been here before, but will NEVER be returning, and will tell others not to go here. So it is their loss to practice such unfair...

Of course we have ordered breakfast and coffee and made sure to be respectful to his hospitality. Had a super fast internet, literally better than at my airbnb 😬 power outlets available everywhere… I managed to have a meeting there and work without problems or disturbance for 5h or more.
