Im in the hotel / hostel as I type this review. Would I recommend staying here ? Yes 100% for sure.||||I work online and a good WiFi connection is very important to me. The connection here is very good. ||||I have a single room to myself and its very clean. The same applies to the whole hostel - spotless.||||The location is good. You are a few minutes walk to bars and places to eat - just far away not to have noise at night. Im staying 'out of season' so it might be different high season - however at the moment its nice and quiet.||||When you exist the hostel take a left. Walk to the end of the road and keep left - there are plenty of places to eat and drink there. There is a Chinese restaurant further along called Dynasty - you can have a meal on the terrace and the view is knockout.||||As a fairly seasoned traveller (and a DE on TripAdvisor) I`m always aware of crime when I visit a new destination. Personally, I find Portugal very safe - Lagos is no exception. I feel totally safe here - I think the location would suit families / young / older people. ||||All in all, this place gets a very good rating from me. Great location / clean / friendly / good price and value for money. I would certainly stay here again - no...

I rarely write reviews, but this experience was too awful to ignore. We booked the triple room for one night and it had a nice balcony and it was so nice but the next day we found our bodies full of bed bugs bites & immediately tried to contact the manager only to be told by reception that “he turns his phone off.” Seriously? When there’s a health issue? We had to cancel all our plans and rush to a pharmacy, then spend hours treating our clothes and bags to make sure we didn’t take anything with us. No apology, no follow-up, no accountability. When I expressed how serious the situation was, their response was:

“Go ahead and write your bad review — we don’t give free stays to avoid fake reviews.”

That says everything about how little they care about guests’ wellbeing or accountability. I wasn’t asking for a free stay — I was asking for basic hygiene and a responsible response. If this is how they treat people who report serious issues, you can imagine how they handle everything else. Avoid this place. and after taking our bags we saw that they already gave the same room to...

Strongly advise against it: Cheap price, but damaged property is not refunded!

Unfortunately our stay was overshadowed by water damage. Water dripped from the ceiling in the middle of the night, so we had to move our beds for safety and lay out a doormat. In addition, our cell phone charger was damaged by contact with the wet multiple socket and it was the electrical buzzing that - luckily! - woke us up. I guess I don't need to explain any further that at this point there is a danger to life and limb.

Contact via the platform and by telephone at the time of the damage (half past midnight) failed to yield any response from the accommodation. In retrospect, they now deny the incident and describe that we had moved furniture - yes, to prevent us from getting wet and to protect the furniture from water...

All of this despite the fact that we fortunately took photos and video evidence, so let's see where it lands, but the accommodation is not cooperating and I would advise anyone not to choose this...
