Overpriced small portions, partially canned food, weird atmosphere. Locals definitely get treated differently than tourists. We had anxiety we would not get served at all because the owner kept ignoring us and was only serving locals. When it was time for us to order, many things were out of stock. The fish we ordered came from a can, the owner just put it from the can on the plate. The overall impression was: the food was either canned, thawed or randomly thrown together but there’s not much cooking involved. We also ordered bread, got two small pieces and when we ordered more, he said it was out of stock. The table next to us got a big basket full of bread (instead of two mini pieces) and he then gave us Zwieback (???) and later threw an old bread roll he got from god knows where in the bread basket. He might found it funny but we did not feel welcome here at all, have left hungry and would never come back. We even met the people sitting next to us in the mini market down the road to buy some more food.

This is fine if you expect a late night pub food, but then it is way overpriced and we expected something different based on all the good reviews.

And don’t get me wrong: we went to snack bars and other tapas places where you were treated nicely and not like this, and even with excellent food. I would not return here nor would I recommend this place to anyone, other...

Best fish soup I've had in ages. It's a "petiscos" place (small snacking portions) and they have some hard to get local stuffs that vary slightly everyday. The small hard cheese is the real deal not what you get in the restaurants. IT IS a place for locals, so try to figure out how act and behave.

This couple have previously run a locally well renowned restaurant and have just recently (3 months) taken over this location and local bar / restaurant staff will drop by late at night after their shifts are over.

Came here to bookmark the place so I remember to go there (since it's new) and saw the ratings. Ignore the pissed off Spaniard review either was referring to previous business or most likely doesn't know what local food is anyway. All the dishes have prices and are written on black board. Also was too happy getting some delicacies with friends from the Nordics and too busy to take pictures. (will fix...

This is probably the most authentic fisherman restaurant in Lagos.

We had the octopus salad, shrimp and sausage. And they were all prepared in the most fundamental way possible.

The octopus salad, was precooked octopus cut up and served with the usual toppings. So it was like every other octopus salad.

The sausage was just a store bought sausage that was flambed tableside. Super simple but really good.

The shrimp was pan fried whole with the shell on. There's is a trick to eating them that I didn't know. It is messy.

Everything felt like something that is cooked quick after a long day out. Basic but full of flavor.

This is also the only restaurant where we walked in and were asked if we had a reservation. The whole restaurant was booked. They slipped us in because we came at opening and there were...

If you want real authentic Portuguese food with no frills then this is the place to go! It is very much a local bar/restaurant and can get crowded during busy times but we thought that added to the charm of the place. The owners were a lovely older couple and the food was just phenomenal- the best I have had during my stay in Lagos. We had the fish soup which was perfectly balanced and very warming. The salted cod croquettes were steaming hot, perfectly crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The octopus salad was unreal, I have never had octopus cooked so perfectly. The only disappointment is that we discovered this place on our last night in Lagos but what an absolute gem!

If you’re looking for authentic food, this is the place to go! A fantastic mom and pop shop where we were the only ones there that spoke English. We couldn’t read the menu, so just told the owner to bring us whatever he recommended and the dishes were great! The bifana was excellent, and was very popular with the locals that stopped at the establishment. However, I stuffed myself on the fish stew and clam pasta until I couldn’t eat anymore, it was incredible! The meal and drinks were also affordable, in contrast to the tourist traps down the street. Bring cash as they don’t accept card!
