Together with my friend we booked two nights at Nations Lagos Hostel. The room was small and the double bed was taking majority of space. As we went to bed around 11pm the owner started to bake a cake , clean the toilet , move furniture and talk to his girlfriend. Our room was just opposite the kitchen and the toilet, so we could hear EVERY single noise. The next morning we decided to move out, as we could not sleep til 2am , just when the owner decided to leave the place and finish his late night cleaning duties (?). As we came to the hostel the next day in the afternoon in order to talk to the owner we were shocked by hus behaviour. The moment we started talking to him he started yelling and screaming at us saying that he is the owner and he decides who can stay or not. He was saying that he does NOT care of we want to move out or not, that he will not give us any money back and we have no idea how staying in the hostels look like ( which is not true!). His attitude was very unprofessional and threatening especially when screaming at two females who wanted to compain about noises late at night! At the end we gave up , as there was no way of discussing any issues with him. Totally rude and disrespectful behaviour! I would never recommend this place to any of my friends, not only because of the noises but mainly because of the attitude of the...
Read moreThe Nations Hostel is easy to reach from the bus and train station. It is right in the city center - shops, restaurants and the beach are just a stone's throw away. We stayed in a 4 beds mixed bedroom. For 12€/night there is nothing to complain about besides the door that would sometimes get stuck and lock us in until someone came to our rescue. The hostel has a kitchen that allows to cook simple meals, if you don't want to eat out every night. You can wash and dry your laundry for 5€. You can also borrow a parasol and take it to the beach. The Nations Hostel is popular for young and old and you can meet nice people there. Lagos has a lot to offer and the coast is beautiful. The host Carlos gave us a lot of information and tips like where to go, what to see and how to get there. He cares a lot for his guest and even freshly prepares a cake for every breakfast. :) I would recommend Nations...
Read moreI stayed 2 nights on room 4, a 4-bed dorm. It's on the same level with the reception so you could hear all the noise from reception / kitchen but during the night it was quiet. The room door is very dodgy, it got stuck on 2 occasions and we really needed to push hard to open it. The breakfast was ok, bread, ham cheese, cereal, coffee. On first morning it was put in the table in reception, on the second day we needed to take everything from the fridge. Nice terrace with view to the marina. Check out is at 13h. On the day when I checked out the guy working at the reception ( don't know the name, but not Carlos) was rude, didn't say...
