We booked this through A vacation package as part of our honeymoon. This place is a dump. Three star is far too generous. It stinks of air freshener to cover up who knows what. There are stairs to carry luggage up or down before you can take an elevator which barely works. One guest was going up and down unable to get it to stop on her floor. The hallways are dark and dank and you wonder what they are hiding. The room was atrocious. Visible dirty stained carpets. Cobwebs in the window frame. Visible debris on the bathroom floor and dirt and mould visible in the shower stall. The stench of chemical air freshener to cover up a smell of cigarettes and other questionable odours was overpowering and unhealthy. There was still a previous guest’s water bottle under the bed meaning they didn’t even clean the floor enough to look under the bed. The train of the metro rumbled by causing vibration through the building.
We spoke to the staff at reception who were like robots. They claimed the room was clean, did not even attempt to inspect it, and said no other room was available. They refused any cancellation or partial refund even for the second night. They did however lie to the vacation travel agent afterwards and said they tried to accommodate us and that the room was correct. What a joke. We frantically rebooked at a 4 star hotel and the difference was like being on another planet.
This hotel is a nightmare and the fact that nothing was even attempted to resolve the issue or any refund even discussed, made it even worse. What a horrible way to wrap up our honeymoon and thank god we found...

Read moreFirst, the staff here are wonderful, very helpful and very quick with any request, that's the reason I'm giving 2 stars.
The hotel premises however are what leave me not wanting to return. To begin my room on the 5th floor and in the back. This meant that basically I had a small window overlooking an alley. This wouldn't be bad if there wasn't a wooden frame that covered the window and wouldn't stay open.
The room interior was depressing, lots of brown and the lighting was Paris yellow which meant that regardless of the time of day, you felt as though it was 2am.
I asked for an ironing board and iron as well as a kettle for making tea. The kettle was fine but they brought nothing to drink tea with nor any spoon. The ironing board was from the 80's and the fabric was peeling away from board such that I couldn't iron a shirt without a ton of effort.
The bathroom in my room always had an odor present, one that smelled of the sewer. The first towel I used after showering had female hair on it.
All in all I wasn't happy with my experience. When I return to Lisbon I'll likely...
