You must stay here if you visit Lisbon!
We received absolutely exceptional service at this hotel. The staff was so professional and went way, way out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. Some of the best service we’ve ever received - which helped prompt us to write this review.
We rented a car and the hotel offers parking for a small daily fee, just around the corner which was so convenient! We came back during a busy evening to find that there were no spots. The staff went out of their way to reserve a spot at the front of the hotel for us , and even sent a fine bottle of Port to our room to apologize for what was barely an inconvenience. They also made wonderful recommendations as to where to eat locally (we wanted to avoid touristy spots and eat where the locals eat). We loved chatting with the staff and general manager and have learned so much about the amazing country of Portugal. They truly made our stay special!
The hotel is located centrally within Lisbon, easily walkable to the many major sites, and the interior is gorgeous.
Breakfast is delicious, with a highly being the pastries. Port tastings are complimentary, and we enjoyed some amazing port when we would get home from a long day of exploring. There is also complimentary flavored water, tea and coffee all day which was really convenient.
The rooms are spacious, elegant, and have a traditional Portuguese flair. Beautiful marble bathrooms as well, bidet included.
The one thing I’d suggest is to bring a hair dryer as the room did not have one.
In conclusion, my husband (a couple in our mid-thirties from the US who are fairly well-traveled) and I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! They helped make our stay here in...
Read moreHotel Lisboa Plaza is a charming old world hotel, filled with character and genuine warmth. It is not a sleek, generic, modern hotel but that is what makes it memorable and unique. Located on Avenida da Liberdade, a street lined with designer fashion brands and upmarket and affordable eateries, it feels very safe and is within easy access of all the main attractions. You are on the flat, making walking easy and the transport links are excellent. With each passing day as we familiarised ourselves with the city, we marvelled at just how close we were to everything. The hotel is very well maintained and spotlessly clean - our compliments to the maintenance and housekeeping team and thank you to Teresa, Luana and team for being so accommodating with our daughters needs. Our family room was large, (Room 611), with comfortable beds, great storage, air conditioning, fridge and double sink bathroom. There is a lovely cosy terrace on the 5th floor with an honesty bar and a large lounge downstairs with comfortable seating and complimentary cold water and tea and coffee 24/7. We dined in the bar on two evenings, a simple menu, but very tasty with great house wine and attentive service. The breakfast buffet will set your family up for the day - fresh fruits, cold meats, hot buffet, pancakes, delicious pastries and nespresso coffee. Service by Carla and Natalie and team was excellent daily. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, for solo travellers, couples or families. We look forward to returning there again someday soon. Thank you to all the team at Lisboa Plaza Hotel for a wonderful four day stay at your...
Read moreWe had a wonderful start to our trip through Portugal at Hotel Lisboa Plaza. The hotel’s charming, historic atmosphere and exceptionally friendly staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was comfortable and spotless, and the daily breakfast buffet was both varied and delicious—perfect for fueling up before a day of sightseeing. Access to transport is excellent: • The hotel is just steps from Avenida da Liberdade, one of Lisbon’s main avenues, making it easy to reach the city’s best shopping, dining, and attractions. • Avenida Metro Station is only a 2–3 minute walk away, providing quick connections to the airport and the rest of Lisbon. • Multiple bus lines and the Sintra and Cascais train lines stop nearby, making day trips and city exploration very convenient. • The famous Glória funicular is just a short walk away, taking you up to the lively Bairro Alto district. • Many key sights, such as Rossio Square and the historic center, are within a 10–15 minute walk. We also loved the cozy lounge areas with complimentary tea and coffee available all day, and the rooftop terrace offers a lovely spot to unwind after exploring the city. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a comfortable base with superb transport links in the...
