Spacious bedroom with comfortable bed and a bathroom with generously proportioned shower area with lots of hot water. The breakfast area in the basement offers a self service, good quality, continental breakfast selection. There is a top of the range coffee maker that quickly provides almost any style of coffee to suit a range of tastes. You can eat inside or, in the pleasant, shaded garden area. ||There is no staffed reception and you are provided with a code to access the building. There is however assistance on hand during the morning breakfast period and any more complex issues can be discussed by phone or WhatsApp with the manager. My own experience was that I got immediate answers on issues such as arranging taxis or questions about the facilities provided in the hotel.||As other reviews point out, the hotel is on a steep hill but benefits from close location to the Avenida metro station, which is only 5 minute walk. There is also an extraordinary selection on good eating places and bars only a 5 to 10...
Read morePerfect location in city centre but in quiet backstreet so no road noise. Rua da Esperance is a very steep street (but that's Lisbon) though the walk up to the hotel is really quite short. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and furnished. Our first floor room was perfect with a huge bathroom and a balcony onto the courtyard/patio garden. The garden has tables and chairs and is planted with shrubs and trees so is really nice to sit outside and have an evening drink or breakfast in the morning. The garden gives access to a kitchen/dining room area with large tables and chairs as well as a sink, fridge, microwave, kettle and a very good bean coffee machine! Tea, coffee, fruit, cereals, milk etc. were provided. Access to the hotel is via a door code entry as there is no reception as such. The host was easily contactable and very helpful and even ordered us an early morning taxi on the day of our departure. Overall fantastic experience and would...
Read moreThis is a perfectly situated place to stay for your travels. It’s in a central area that makes just about anywhere you wish to go walkable, varies from 10 - 50minutes of walking depending on the area. If further, take a cab or the train! The room I stayed in was clean and comfy. There wasn’t AC but the building is mostly on the shady side. I had a fan that kept the room nice and cool throughout. Two gorgeous big window-balcony and the bathroom was quite large with a tub for a nice soak. You make your own breakfast and the food provided with more than enough - eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, yogurt and fruit. Breakfast area was indoor and outdoor. Rooms get cleaned on the regular and the staff were quite nice and accommodating. I felt sad to leave for another location! Wi-Fi...
