Small Rooms, Comfortable Beds, OK Shower, Friendly Front-Desk Staff
Transportation The hotel is about 7 kilometers (4 miles) from the Lisbon Airport, so taking a taxi is the most direct route. You can travel to Rossio Plaza via the Metro, and the price of the Metro is included in the Lisboa Card, which also provide discounted or free entry to many sights in the city. There are direct Aerobus lines to Rossio Plaza, but they are not operating during the COVID pandemic.
Location The hotel is located in downtown Lisbon, so many sights are within walking distance. Additionally, Lisbon’s extensive network of trams is easily accessible from the hotel.
Lobby and Check-In The lobby is modern, but somewhat spartan, in an IKEA-design sort of way.
The front-desk staff person was friendly and welcoming. Since we arrived late-morning, our room was not yet ready, so the staff member stored our bags and offered us a glass of local rosé as he provided us with recommendations for restaurants and sight.
Rooms Our room was on the top floor and was very small. The bed was regular-sized bed, despite my having requested a queen or two twins.
The only chair in the room would not fit under the tiny desk. There is not a closet, but there is an open-air hanger for clothing and several drawers for storage.
The room temperature is controlled by the front desk, not by the thermostat in the guest room (despite what the information sheet in the room stated). The Wi-Fi is very spotty (going in and out of service or working very slowly). While we went out to dinner, the television was automatically turned on, and the remote control didn’t work well to turn off the television when we returned.
If you get a room on the top floor, the window dormers create a low sharp edge on which it's easy to hit one's head.
Bathroom The bathroom was adequate with storage space under the sink for our toiletry kits. Water pressure was decent, and the shower was good-sized. However, there were no shelves in the shower for one’s own toiletries.
Dining Options We did not dine at the hotel, so I’m not able to provide any insights with regard to the restaurants or bar.
Value The cost per night was roughly $90 USD per night, which is a good value, even with the quirks of the small room.
Overall The overall hotel experience was adequate, but I would look for a hotel with larger rooms were I to stay in...
Read moreHotel charging too much for what they offer. This hotel is typical example of money making machine of the owner. It is like an Italian car: looking good on the surface but broken inside. Rooms are way too small. At least: for longer stay. There is no closet in the rooms. Cleanliness of the rooms is not on level you might expect. Bathroom was old. Showers are very challenging since space is small and shower system is not adjustable so you end up showering in corner of the shower where water is actually streaming out of shower unite. Amazing Rituals products are adjusted the way that trying to pump out some of it you get very little of gel out. Guests are being (on several occasions) told off by personnel. We witnessed at least twice lady at reception being rude to guests which where checking out. Every morning the lady working at breakfast was telling guests off that 10 o’clock is the last minute they can eat. For ever: the breakfast has no diversity. Coffee is horrible. Our first espresso was served in cups so messed up I was doubting if the cups where clean in the go place. We have seen people working throug all night until after noon next day. (No idea of this is even legal). Cleanliness of the restaurant was also not the best. Shortly said: if you want to stay for one night it’s ok. But get your breakfast somewhere else. On positive note: this hotel does have a good location and clean bed. Most of people working here also try to be helpful and kind. And last note: pictures on this search are not all from this particular hotel but mix of more hotels of the hotel chain. So do...
Read moreThis hotel is in a prime location. You can literally walk to everything! It’s two small blocks from the metro, 3ish blocks from the water and a 20 minute walk to the castle. We didn’t need to take any public transportation except from the airport. It’s in the middle of a busy area with lots of great options for dining out. If you don’t mind walking 40 minutes you can even make it to the financial district. We didn’t eat their $10 breakfast buffet because it looked pretty basic and there are places in the area you can walk to and have the same thing for half the price. Frederico was the best at getting us checked in early, explaining the area and hotel, and arranging a transfer to the airport for us at 5:00am. We loved him! The room was cute. I was expecting something really small compared to a typical US hotel room, but it was fine! Smaller than I am accustomed, but it was great for two people for 3 days. The bed was comfy. The pillowcases were white so some stains were showing which was kind of gross… We have three complaints that took one star off of our review: The TV turned off on us every 20-30 minutes, which was annoying. The shower drain was also not attached well and made noise when water hit it. The woman working the front desk during the overnight shift was never wearing a mask. We felt uncomfortable. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone going to Lisbon. I would just check about the TV in...
