After about 4 days of searching for a good dinner in Lisbon, we were kindly asked into Restaurant Augusta one evening. After we sat down, the waiter handed us the menu. The prices were somewhat reasonable this time. I ordered the beef fillet and my wife ordered the vegetarian sushi and fries. I asked the waiter to prepare the fillet medium rare. When the food arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes! The steak turned out to be a Schnitzel and was served in a greasy sauce in a pan! The fries served as a side dish were also not enjoyable. Since almost the same thing had happened to me a few days earlier at another restaurant in Lisbon, I thought, "Let me just try to eat it this time." Unfortunately, it was dreadful!!! A leather sole in grease, along with old fries! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo here. Because I thought to myself, "Let me give it another chance," I ordered chocolate mochi. Again, a small portion and so frozen that I couldn't even eat it. I brought this up to the waiter, who first suggested bringing me a knife and then said that this dish had never been ordered before and he wasn't sure what exactly one could eat from the dessert... At least the mochi was not charged to me. Due to all the oil, I ended up with a stomach...
Read moreWaiters didn’t attend to us fast even after we made it clear we were ready to order. We also didn’t have enough glasses on the table and had to ask to get some.
The restaurant was out of large bottled water so we had to order small plastic water bottles.
We were served raw chicken in one of the dishes which we asked to return.
Dishes came at random times (one main came after everyone else had finished). Starters came for two people quickly and slowly for 3 people.
the location is in a hotel lobby which is a bit awkward, but not a huge issue. However there was a repository of empty glasses and plates just behind us.
One of the sushi options that came in the couples set had cream cheese and mango with salmon which was not in line with my personal preferences as it tastes like a fishy dessert, but I guess that’s just an opinion.
All the condiments (eg. Soy sauce) came in little plastic packets which deterred from having a nice restaurant experience imo.
All the other food was tasty though and the fish was fresh and good quality.
I wouldn’t come again and was quite disappointed given the...
Read moreLet me start this by saying I’ve worked in restaurants for 26 years. I understand things can go wrong. THIS experience was unforgivable. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me at a table. When they finally did, I ordered food and another drink. They both came quick. The bartender was talented and efficient, the only highlight. The food was TERRIBLE. I had two different sushi rolls. It appeared a manager stops what they’re doing to go roll the sushi. It was 90% rice, with terribly low quality ingredients, bland, and over-priced. That was the last time the server acknowledged me. After eating what I could, I pushed the plates to the end if the table. A different server asked if I needed it boxed. I said no, it wasn’t good. My server passed several times again, without saying a word. I asked for the check, waited several more minutes, before grabbing my things and walking to the front. The manager asked how things were, and I told him. He said I should’ve said something earlier and then argued with me. Do yourself a favor and go...
