We arrived as a group of four at 10:40pm last night, an hour and 20 minutes before closing, with plenty of other customers still in the restaurant. Upon arriving the man who initially greeted us slammed our water on the bench and told us we had five minutes to decide on our order, and that ramen was the only option this late - which was fine since that’s what we came for and already knew what we wanted as regular customers.

We've dined here many times before, including the night prior, but the atmosphere this time was noticeably unwelcoming. We ate quickly and still left 40 minutes before closing. As soon as we finished the female server abruptly began clearing our bowls before we had even left our seats. One of us said, “Thank you, have a good night,” only to be ignored with a disgusted look.

The service was shockingly rude, especially toward returning customers who have always had good experiences here. Given that we did nothing wrong and left well before closing, the treatment was completely disgraceful. There are plenty of other great ramen spots around, this one is no longer worth it.

Response: We left before 11:30pm, so that claim is false - according to my tracked location, we were in the restaurant for only about 27 minutes, yet we were still treated that way. By that time, we were already back at our hotel. Regardless of when we left, the treatment was appalling, especially toward regular loyal customers. Your restaurant originally stated on Google that it closed at 12am - the group who arrived after us even mentioned this to the waiter who greeted them. It seems you've only changed it after my review.

Check the cameras, and you'll see we arrived at 10:40 PM. We were never asked that. It seems your team is...

Cozy and atmospheric ramen restaurant in Lisbon. We were with 4 and were seated in a nice booth near the window. We were served by Kusum, who showed us a great time!

For starters we had the assortment of stir fried mushrooms, crunchy fried eggplant cubes, tofu bao and the cold wakame seaweed salad. The mushrooms had a rich umami flavour that paired very well with the sweetness of the honey and the creamy raw egg garnish. The eggplant was absolutely addicting, with great flavour and texture. The tofu in the bao was very well marinated, and the bun was perfectly fluffy. All of these went great with the slightly sour but nutty seaweed salad.

I had the vegetarian miso ramen, which had a base of miso and peanut butter, which gave it an incredible nutty, earthy flavour, which paired well with the slightly sweet, silken tofu and the salty broth. I think the corn was slightly roasted, which further added to the toasty and sweet flavours.

For dessert I had the vegan cheese cake and the dango kebab. The former was quite sweet. You might expect the texture to be a bit more firm but I enjoyed the softer bite. The sesame flavour added a nice nutty flavour to contrast the sweetness and the crumbled cookie added a contrast to the soft body of the cake. The dango had a satisfying chew and the red bean paste coating was slightly sweet, which made for a very balanced dessert. Definitely a favorite!

The I also had a bite of the wasabi peanut white chocolate mouse. I'm personally not a big fan of wasabi, but its pungent flavour does strike a bold contrast to the sweet (and firm) white chocolate mouse.

All in all a very nice experience with some new flavours and old but very well executed flavours. Would...

I enter the restaurant at 17:00pm on a Saturday and right away approached by a fellow staff member, and there's our table by the window seat.

As we take a look at the menu through an iPad, a staff member right away approaching us with a bottle of freezing water. Remember we did not asked for this, and it's going to be really awkward to deny and so, we got the freezing water [€2.50].

The staff looked at us while holding the bottle of freezing water, the eyesight begging us to order the water and what happen next? We want to order 2 beers [€3 Each] and right away recommended us a deal with chicken wings. We asked is it BBQ or garlic favor. No respond from what we asked what flavor, dead center pointing at the menu, 10 minutes and I'm disappointed, the chicken wings are extremely tiny. Yes there's soy sauce smell coming from the wings and deep fried.

Arriving to our main course, 3 Ramen and overall good. However we ordered spicy and did not get the same result, adding half of the spicy oil with the same result [Not Spicy].

More importantly seaweed cut in half instead of one full slice, also i am pretty sure spinach not suppose to be apart of the japanese style Ramen.

Each Ramen cost around €15, we spent our time and a bit disappointed to this restaurant. The service is 4/10, still don't know why adding spinach in japanese Ramen is a good idea.

The sum of the bill is €68 for three and 25% tax, hopefully next time will improve and...

UPD: visited the restaurant again a year later. Had a delightful experience, both with the service and the food. Hence, I gladly increase my rating. Koppu ramen is back on my gastronomic map of Lisbon :) ———————— Old review: The Google rating seems to be overly inflated: the place is overpriced for the level of service they offer. It took close to an hour from seating to getting ramen. The starters, as well as the ramens our table has ordered came at different times. The toilet had no toilet paper. As we were seated at the bar that is peaking into the kitchen, we could observe the total chaos that was going on between the chefs and the service. The atmosphere of stress was permeating. It seems that the staff is either really stretched or incompetent. Now onto the food: the starters were okay, albeit one (the mushrooms) was overly salty. The ramens were underwhelming - the broth seemed to be good, but the toppings were off: the eggs, for instance, were overcooked in one of the ramens and undercooked in the other. The dominant flavor in my ramen was that of spring onions, and the chashu was too dry. The cocktails, however, were absolutely gorgeous - they earned some points for our experience. Otherwise, it would be a complete disaster.

We love exploring Japanese restaurants in other countries and on this vacation, Koppu Ramen was the choice in Lisbon. We were greeted by Sushila, quite possibly one of the best servers in the city. She recommended the perfect cocktail for the evening, Amarguinha Sours to compliment the edamame saltead and gyoza... some of the best I've ever tasted. They have plenty of Ramen to choose from and we ordered the Tan Tan Men - Ton and Ori. Both had minced pork and mine with added pork belly. The broth was so delicious and so flavorful I couldn't get enough. And the noodles tasted fresh enough they could have made just moments prior to serving them. Top it off with Susi's recommended mochi ice cream for dessert and we walked away completely satisfied and satiated. This was some of the best Ramen we've ever had and it has ruined it for anything we can get at home. Great service. Great vibe. Great drinks and food. It will become our go-to place whenever in Lisbon.
