This place is so bizarre. You either have people following you like you’re about to thieve something and/or they want to get rid of you quickly. It’s been this way for years.
Today, Natasha the shopping assistant seemed to think her colleague (Marica I think) helping me pick the right shade of lipstick was a waste of time. Fully assuming I didn’t speak Portuguese, she let her colleague know that if she helped me try on shades she’d be here for hours.
Shopping assistants start whispering into their microphones as soon as they see dark skinned people enter the store. And security guards start getting alert. From my experience, they do this as soon as they see Indians or Africans. If you go through the comments section, you can see people of colour having similar experience.
I also get the feeling that people of colour who are hired by Sephora have been trained to racially profile and discriminate other people of colour who are customers. History repeating itself. I think there needs to be some conscious and unconscious bias training needed company wide in Lisbon.
A real shame that Sephora’s standards have dropped...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of meeting Daniel at Sephora, and I can't recommend him enough! From the moment I walked in, Daniel greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome. His expertise in makeup is truly impressive.
Daniel took the time to understand my needs and preferences, offering personalized recommendations that suited my skin type and style. He guided me through the entire process, from selecting the right products to applying them flawlessly. I especially appreciated his tips on techniques I could easily replicate at home.
What really stood out was how patient and enthusiastic he was. Daniel made the experience enjoyable and stress-free, and I left feeling confident and beautiful.
If you're looking for a knowledgeable and friendly makeup assistant at Sephora, be sure to ask for Daniel. He truly goes above and beyond to ensure his clients have a...
Read moreThe service here is so hit and miss. Ive had amazing service here before with a tall (French?) man, but today was a different story. I came here today wanting to try the Dior foundation and asked if I can get a sample and the girl said no, only if I buy something. This is the first time I’ve ever been rejected by a Sephora employee for a sample, EVER. The weirdest thing is I’ve gotten foundation samples from this exact store before so I don’t know, maybe i didn’t dress rich and old enough today (I know I look like an 18 yr old when Im bare faced)🤣 i tried to explain to her that I suffer from extreme sensitive skin and I need to try it for few days to make sure it doesn’t give me a reaction. She didn’t seem to get it. Either way, the experience was really uncomfortable so I suggest go elsewhere for proper Sephora...
