The perfect spot and base for a city trip (short or long stay) to Lisbon. You're really in the heart of the city. Tip: use Bolt to get to and from the airport. Ride takes about half an hour and will cost you around 12 euros. At the airport, there is a dedicated area for Bolt and Uber rides in P2 (parking).
The staff are super friendly; we were able to store our luggage before and after our stay (on both arrival and departure days), which was great because we didn’t have to lug our stuff around the city.
We booked a large apartment with two bedrooms, both with double beds. There was also a room with a sofa bed. The place was tastefully decorated with great care. When you arrive, you’ll find some lovely surprises waiting for you. There’s a shower and a kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself. No need to worry about doing the dishes either, as there's a dishwasher. There are two TVs and two air conditioners. The views from both sides (front and back) are stunning.
You’re right above a lively shopping street in the Baixa district. From the front, you can see the Arco da Rua Augusta, Lisbon’s city gate, to the left, and the Tagus River. To the right, you can spot the famous Santa Justa Lift, also known as Elevador do Carmo. From the other side, you get a view of the Castelo de São Jorge. In short, you’re really in the heart of the city, with many sights within walking distance. Just keep in mind that there’s no lift in the building, so with six floors of stairs, we got a free gym session. Lisbon is built on seven hills, so be prepared for some steep climbs...

We have booked two nights at the apartments and paid in advance via booking.com. After booking (4 weeks prior to arriving) we have called the owner and explained that we will be checking in at around 19:00 - all seem fine then.
When we had finally arrived at the agreed time there was no one to open the door to the apartment… we have managed to reach the staff and they said that the check in as between 15:00 and 18:00 and - as it was after 18:00 - no one was available to open the door to our apartment. No pleading or begging helped - we ended up spending the night in a horrible hotel room (the only place that we were able to find with free rooms available) and only the following day (during the apartment standard check in hrs..!) we were able to enter our apartment.
When we arrived- the staff shown us several emails that they had sent to us via booking.com informing us of their strict check in times. None of the emails had reached us due to booking.com not sharing their emails with us either via their app or through direct messages. Our devastating experience was a result of the lack of passing on communication via intermediary, booking.com, as well as inflexible and unhelpful staff during the emergency situation that we have found ourselves in.
The apartment - once we were able to enter - was clean and functional. If you are lucky to arrive between 15:00 and 18:00 and you have booked the place without intermediaries then you are likely to enjoy the place. We have not been...
Read moreWe have booked 4 nights in this apartment. The location is fantastic and so convenient for attractions, food and shopping. However, there are several factors to take note of before booking this apartment. Firstly, the furnitures are quite dated, not as nice as the photos on booking.com website. Secondly, the shower doesn't work very well. The shower area is not covered entirely by the shower screen. So you have to be very careful when showering or you will flood the bathroom. The water temperature is very difficult to control. It kept switching between hot and cold water when showering. Thirdly, there is no lift so do take note for those with accessibility issues. The last and the biggest problem of this apartment is poor sound proofing. If you want to have a good sleep with minimal noise, this is not for you. The buskers are just right downstairs and they don't stop till 10.30pm. We were on the second floor and we closed our windows. And I could still hear them very clearly. We also had a very inconsiderate group of guys living on the third floor who returned at 4am talked very loudly while stomping up the staircase. Much as we loved the location and were given tarts and bottles of water when we checked in, I wouldn't recommend my friends...
