Goodfellas Italian Cuisine — Restaurant in Lisbon

The front of house guy managed to convince us to come into the restaurant. He said if we didn't enjoy he'd give us our money back. It's along the main busy tourist area where a lot of these restaurants have the same menu pictures etc. (also overpriced)

We were looking for vegetarian food. We'd already deliberated a lot about where to go so we caved and went in. The service was good initially and the food although overpriced.. €15/16 for vegetarian paella. The portion size was fair. Also, the it felt like the lady server with the apron was doing all the work and the people without aprons were just stood trying to get people in. Anyway, we were relatively happy with our meal.

Then we got given the bill (we hadn't asked for it) the lady server said the foh man had said we'd asked for it. When it came to pay we said we'd pay by card. The lady didn't give us chance to look at the bill. As I was trying to look at what we were charged the lady was pushy for our payment from my friend.

They had also put the service charge on our bill without giving the option asking if we wanted or not. (this hadn't happened at other places)

The lady asked if my friend wanted to pay in euro or pounds and my friend said euros. The payment was taken in pounds and was nearly £10 extra than the actual bill. We raised our concerns and the lady blamed the machine and said it had never happened before. We asked the original man who got us in and he said there was nothing they could do (really unhelpful)

While our party of 2 was seated immediately, it took forever to be seen by any staff. We decided to put in our orders all at once since we had a feeling it would take a while. AND BOY DID IT TAKE A WHILE, I get it they were busy but even still omg. But that’s not the worst of it. This place DOES NOT know what filet mignon is… there are 3 different options on the menu and only one is actually filet (the €70 golden steak). The rest are flank steaks or ribeyes cut off the bone and served for filet price. Fat, tough, and WRONG. When we asked about it not only did the manager not understand that what we had been served was not filet. I swear this man doesn’t know what a filet actually is. Even after failing to produce a real filet, he actively avoided us and when we asked if we had any other food coming he looked at us like a deer in the headlights. Our order of the ‘arroz de mariscos’ was soggy, all the shells were still on the shrimps so I had to peel steaming hot shrimp, and shuck muscles/clams that was covered in sauce and it was gross. Did I mention again that this took OVER 2.5 HOURS FOR 2 people ordering 1 app and 2 entrees ALL AT...

AVOID THIS AWFUL RESTAURANT - if I could leave less than 1 star I would. I’m not sure where to start but our experience included extremely slow service, our bread and olives didn’t arrive even after asking 3 times and when it arrived it was brioche rather than crusty bread! My sons pizzas were raw and the dough still very uncooked, the cannelloni was tasteless, the steak arrived with cold rice and no salad and they forgot the fried egg and one of our dishes the Paella didnt arrive at all. I complained and told them I didnt want it now as I had wanted to eat with my family. They brought it it out 2 minutes later and tried to force me to take it. The manageress arrived and told me that I should expect this as they are very busy, she then went on to blame her staff. Having eaten all over the world I can honestly say that it was a the worst experience I have ever had. People around us were ordering and leaving.
