So, we had a lovely stay right in the heart of Lisbon. My partner and I searched and searched for somewhere To stay and came across this place. ||You get what you pay for and the place was an up market hostel type accommodation. They have three types of rooms, bedroom only with complete shared bathroom, room with shower and sink and room with en suite. We had the second, room with shower and sink, at first we were really unsure about having to share a toilet BUT it is not a massive hotel with 100's of bedrooms and so sharing (toilet only) was actually no problem at all. ||The hotel was extremely clean and the two ladies who run it were polite, efficient and as helpful as could be. One spoke more English than the other but speaking Spanish helped to understand. ||The price of €40 a night was great for a big (with extra single bed) TV, shower, TV with great channels for music etc but we were most impressed that thy offered FREE WIFI. There were some 5* places where you have to pay. ||The location is great, literally 1 min 30 second walk from the centre restauradores and metro/bus/tram. ||There is a 'tram ride' that you can take which is NOT WORTH IT. You que and pay and it lasts maybe 25/30 seconds and you could walk and take photos enjoying the old buildings and art work instead. ||It is the second floor and there is NO LIFT so be ware, my poor boyfriend had to carry half my life up the two sets of stairs in a suitcase but all in all, a lovely, welcoming and CLEAN Place to stay in the centre for a great price. No breakfast but options to purchase cold canned non alcoholic drinks and coffees! ||We...
Read moreSo Lisbon is expensive and this was the cheapest place I could find. Firstly it’s in a great position, really close to the centre of town and all public transport, I would still get a travel pass as Lisbon is a big place though. It’s through a rather grubby door and up a couple of flights of stairs as it seems to be in two apartments on the second floor across the landing from each other, so if you can’t walk up steps then it’s no good, but we didn’t have an issue with this. One side of the stairs has reception and a few rooms, and the staff will let you in if you are on the other side. When you come back at night you have to ring and they let you in as they keep the outside doors (on the second floor) locked. We had a room behind reception, as there were three of us it was very cosy, but we only used it for sleeping in so that was okay, the beds were comfortable. It was a little warm, we did have a fan in the room but no air conditioning. The bathroom was small but the shower was good and it was cleaned every day. There were a couple of times some people hanging around at the door, and maybe they knew the receptionist as one night they came up the stairs behind us and there seemed to be an altercation between her and these men, she dealt with it though and I never felt unsafe. Would I stay there again? Yes, but probably only if I couldn’t find something else at a...
