My daughter told me that this cafe has very tasty burgers so when I read the news that they have a promotion “Kids eat for free” we decided that it’s a good reason to visit it now. It took some time to find vegetarian burger in the menu. When we asked for cola and ice tea the waiter was very surprised and told that they have only cola, fanta, sprite and water. I also was very surprised as it is the first place in Portugal where we haven’t found ice tea. My daughter told that when they were here with her class they also had orange and apple juice. He agreed that they have juice. So we ordered kids burger with orange juice and vegetarian burger with cola. When the waiter came with drinks he told “Your cola zero”. I was not sure that this is my order as I asked for regular cola. However my daughter told that it is ok because when she was here with her class they also were given cola zero. While we were waiting for the order I decided to look through the drinks menu and found ice tea there. I’m not sure whether it was unavailable at the moment or the waiter was not aware that they have ice tea. My daughter told that her juice was very tasty so I decided to try. It tasted like fanta without gas. In my opinion the cafe is not very cheap so they can have more natural juice but most probably they just know kids taste and care about taste not about quality. We both really liked our burgers and fries. The place was really noisy but not because of music but because of visitors talking. When we asked for a bill we received the bill with kids menu included in the bill in spite of the fact that I asked about that promotional kids menu at the beginning. The waiter told that only drink is free so I had to show the promotion on the website. After that he brought the bill with free kids menu. I believe the only thing which is really good here is burgers because atmosphere and service was lower...
Read moreWe had been in Lisbon for 3 days and my friend was really eager to go to a Hard Rock Café. I had previously visited Hard Rock Café in multiple cities and told my friend it is always a great experience. When we arrived we were welcomed in the most friendly manner and taken to our table, all was good and the atmosphere was perfect, we had been exploring the city that day in the extreme heat and pretty hungry. The staff at this point had all been very friendly until the member that came to serve our table, straight away as he came to hand us the menu we felt some attitude but brushed it off. He asked whether we spoke Portuguese or English, I speak both languages fluently and said Portuguese, when he finally came over to take our order we chose our options and I decided to get a starter before our main meal. The staff member called "Sat" had asked whether we wanted the starter first or together with the main meal however I could not understand when he asked in Portuguese and politely asked him to speak in English in which I was met with a very hostile and rude "is something wrong with my Portuguese?". I usually don't let people speak to me in this manner but had no energy and patience to start an argument especially after spending all morning exploring in the extreme heat. I replied to him in the most friendly and polite manner possible "nothing is wrong with your Portuguese, I just didn't understand let's stick to English". He then proceeded to reply with attitude "I asked if you spoke English or Portuguese". I currently don't live in Portugal and visiting my country is always something I look forward to but I have never been treated in such an awful manner in my own country and really hope he is spoken to. It's not only damaging to the image of the Hard Rock Café but it's also not helpful towards people that choose Portugal to work and live whether you are...
Read moreOn May 1st, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. Luckily, we didn't need to make a reservation, but I believe that's not usually the case. The restaurant itself is worth visiting for the experience, the atmosphere, the music, and the memorabilia that tells its story.
As for the food, we ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and The Big Cheeseburger, both of which came with fries and a vinegar-based sauce. We also ordered two cocktails: the Hurricane and the Tropical Margarita. The restaurant's entrance through the store was a bit unusual, but as a first-timer, I cannot say if it's the same in all Hard Rock Cafes.
The servers were quite accommodating, asking us about allergies and preferences, and how we wanted our meat cooked. The BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger was delicious, with a juicy patty and excellent sauces - definitely recommended. The Big Cheeseburger was also good, but it was slightly smaller and only one euro cheaper, so not as worth it in my opinion. The Hurricane was good, but the glass it came in was smaller than what we saw in the picture. The Tropical Margarita, on the other hand, was quite strong.
Now, regarding the price, we need to keep in mind that paying 20 euros for a hamburger and 12 euros for a cocktail is mostly for the brand and experience. While it's not an essential restaurant to visit in Lisbon, those who enjoy the genre and the memorabilia will find it worthwhile.
The service was good, although I must say that Lisbon is starting to feel quite Americanized in terms of how servers are constantly checking up on customers. Some may like it, others may not, but it's a personal preference.
Overall, I didn't dislike the experience, but I probably wouldn't...
