The museum includes 3 main rooms. First one is the artifacts that are brought from India, including pictures, paintings, chairs, and most importantly two giant globes which is very entertaining to observe. The next part of the museum is the remaining of buildings and also the signs that Portuguese pioneers installed in south Africa and other parts of the world during the age of discovery, first one dates back to early 15th century. the last section which is the the main part, is in fact a huge salon occasionally hosting seminars and in the past some concerts. around this big hall, there are objects from eastern countries like China, Macau and some objects of African countries were taken to the first floor as the second floor was under maintenance. The experience of this museum was in fact pleasant. the entrance is 5 euro and 2.5 for students. the staff are super friendly and they all can speak English fluently which is a plus point! also there is a guide for your visit providing you with all the useful...

This is a beautiful small museum focusing on Portugal’s history of the discovery of other countries. There are exhibits including Portuguese-Indian furniture, two incredibly detailed and beautiful globes and the historic Portuguese hall, among others. If you love maps, you’ll fall in love with the globes :)

The entrance fee is 5€, 2.5€ for students and 2€ for the elderly. Photography without flash is allowed. I got a 15 minute long personal tour in English included in the entrance fee. All staff members were...

Very nice museum, the exhibition is kinda small and it lacks English information (and even Portuguese in ones) but the staff was very friendly and guided me all over the different halls, would suggest to visit if you like history or geography.

Absolutely the most amazing museum I have visited so far in Portugal. There are not a lot of descriptions on the very rich collection items but the free guide Nuño was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable.
