Firstly, the staff at the front desk and cafe are amazing. They are friendly, helpful and try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The prices of the cafe are also very reasonable given the location of the hotel and compared to prices at surrounding venues. The location is great as it's very central and walkable to all main city attractions. The room was mostly well kept and functional with some areas of improvement
Where it lost the 2 stars is as follows: the bathroom has no privacy when it comes to the shower. It's glass-paned and it opens out to the hallway which is very visible to the living areas. Even if the shower door swung the other way, it would be a vast improvement the shower doesn't drain very well. The floor can be graded better to drain more effectively. Otherwise after a long-ish shower and open the door, the pooled water leaks out onto the carpet in the hallway. This leads to the next point... there was a urine-like stench that came from the shower drain at some point during our stay. The smell also seemed to be from the couch as well the hot tub in the spa never went higher than 36⁰C despite trying all settings. The gym was basic but effective. The other amenities such as the sauna and steam room were pretty good. housekeeping overall was good but there were some consistency improvements such as providing conditioner, extra towels (we had a 3rd person), not providing us with a dish towel until after they realized we were washing our own dishes.
Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and definitely would recommend...

It’s a hot tub, sauna and steam room that also comes with shower and bathroom. The steam room was more of a stink room and so not usable.|There is a rooftop pool that was nice.|Parking-The listing says that there is free parking but in reality it’s not accessible (at least when I was there) because of random street closures that meant that the street in front of the hotel was inaccessible to cars and I had to park a couple blocks away. On that note a warning that the dense urban center is tough to drive around because of very narrow streets, one ways, and random street closures meant that google maps was nearly useless for navigation that I just got frustrated and parked the car and then walked the rest of the way to the hotel.|My room, number 101, had a silly design flaw in that the bathroom walls were glass and so anyone else in the room can see you in the shower or sitting on the toilet. There is fogged glass that only goes 1/2 way up but that doesn’t really address the issue of seeing you or hearing...
Read moreWe stayed a week in March, 2023. We LOVED this hotel. The location cant be beat and the staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks to the two Sophies. We upgraded to a suite (101), which was large, had an almost full kitchen and best of all a large private garden attached. The rooms were separated by a fold-out divider to help late sleepers and early risers. The spa is reserved by the hour due to COVID, so you have it all to yourself. Breakfast was okay, but got a little stale after one week. I really appreciated the off-street garage parking but be aware the entrance is very narrow and steep. I had a Smart Car and had no problem, but my friend had a Peugeot Clio and hit the side. Finally, it is very hard to find this hotel, DO NOT trust your Google Maps due to one-way streets and construction closing roads. When you finally find the right street, it looks 100% like a pedestrian street with local bars and cafes having tables and chairs out in the cobblestone street. You can wind around them to reach the hotel. Check Google Street view before you go to see what you can expect. We would definitely...
