We booked 3 nights at this hotel starting 20 September 2017 ||We arrived at 11:30 PM, and already at the reception we were very disappointed , We got a room and to reach it we went up the stairs (no elevator) and walked with the suitcases a long way ||The room was a bit big, with a kitchen and a view of the hotel's courtyard wall ||The main problem was that there were a large number of mosquitoes in the room and since my wife was allergic to mosquitoes, we had to leave the hotel immediately ( we left around 00:30 AM).|| The manager of the hotel (Bernardo) spoke to us on the phone and was really not nice to me and my wife ||He insisted that we pay for the three days even though we left the hotel. We agreed that the first evening would be paid and the other two nights would not be paid ||He insisted and even wrote a reply to Booking that he who offered us another room the next day... But he didn't understand that we could not stay because of my wife elergic ||In addition he wrote that he saw only 2 mosquitoes and really 2 mosquitoes were on the bed ... the rest were milling about in the room ||||We travel a lot in the world and have never encountered such a humiliating attitude ||I also want to note that we did not cancel out of comfort or because we suddenly decided not to come ... We just did not get...
Read morePerfect Oasis right in the centre. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. I stayed there for 3 nights last month and we were so comfortable there that we were reluctant to leave and continue with the rest of our holiday. We stayed in the older part of the hotel at the back entrance. We had a very spacious and comfortable room with kitchenette, beautiful bedroom and bathroom with a great shower. It was extremely quiet at night and we had great views over the city. The hotel has a garden in the centre of the hotel with water feature and sunbeds and loungers so you have this little oasis to come back to after a days sight seeing. I would highly recommend checking out the spa if you're staying there. Great indoor jacuzzi and sauna as well as steam room to soothe the muscles after walking all day. The breakfast room was a little small but the most beautiful room with paintings on the ceiling. A good selection was on offer , the usual continental breakfast, danishes, buns and don't forget the donuts and Portuguese custard tarts! Last but not least our hosts really made our stay that bit extra special. We were offered a welcome port on arrival and recommended great bars and resturants throughout our stay. They were so helpful and friendly, especially Marco who made us feel like we were...
Read moreWe stayed 4 nights at the Oca Vitoria in Porto. If you are booking, the Oca Vitoria and the Oca Flores are two sides of the same hotel complex with the check in desk on the Flores side. If you get dropped off at the Vitoria entrance you will encounter a large mostly empty room. There is a phone with no instructions that will help you contact the front desk.||The room we were assigned was well equipped and very spacious with a full kitchen. We thought it was worth the premium price we paid. We had only two issues, it was advertised as a studio with a view of the cathedral but there was no view, and the beds were very hard.||We booked the breakfast buffet which involved seating in a beautiful high-ceilinged room. The breakfast had variety but no changes day to day. The food in the covered 'heated' containers was cold on 2 of 3 days. Great coffee and fresh fruit.||Desk staff were helpful, friendly, and fluent in English. ||This is a lovely property in a great location and could be a 5 with some attention to detail and...
