We stayed at Alibi by Yours for my spouse’s birthday and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is perfectly located, within easy walking distance of multiple main city sights, making it an excellent base for exploring Porto. Check-in was smooth and welcoming—we arrived in person but also received clear instructions via text in case of a late arrival, which was a thoughtful touch. The hotel itself is beautifully renovated, clean, and has a luxe feel. While there are quite a few stairs (which might not be ideal for everyone), the overall ambiance and design more than made up for it. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room included a small balcony, which made celebrating even more special. Having a restaurant and wine bar downstairs was also a huge plus, adding to the convenience and charm of the stay. As for the room, it was standard in size but well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed and a rack for hanging clothes. It served its purpose well, offering a cozy and stylish retreat after a day of sightseeing. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service, particularly from Andreia at check-in and checkout. He went above and beyond to help arrange a birthday surprise for my spouse, setting up brut, chocolates, strawberries, and decorations before our arrival. This extra effort made our stay incredibly special and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Alibi by Yours to anyone visiting Porto. Between the fantastic location, stylish accommodations, and outstanding hospitality, it’s a perfect choice for a comfortable and memorable stay.

What a load of overpriced trash! Had a table reserved for 9pm, came in and was greeted with a "your table is not ready, please wait here". After waiting for about 15min, we asked if it was ok to order, so as to speed up the process when we arrived at the table. We were told that the food was very quick and we would have our table in 5 min, therefore the server would take our order but only submit it to the kitchen when we were seated. After 5min were finally seated and we're greeted with another server that told us that we couldn't order if it wasn't with him and that we would have to reorder. After telling him if he could talk with his colleague because he had our order, he grunted and abided. He came back disgruntled asking for our drinks and then went away in a brute manner. The food was not in fact as quick as advertised, since it took 20min to arrive (if only the order would have been submitted to the kitchen when we suggested 😀) Food came: - the ceviche was good, the one good surprise from the night - the tartare might as well be a spoon of mustard as it was the only thing anyone could taste - the "prego" was ok, if you want good ones visit any other place - the octopus salad was atrocious - the risotto was disgusting, felt like I was licking the bottom of the ocean of how salty it was Overall, put this at the bottom of your list of go-to places Edit: found this little fella next to the kitchen, when we were leaving the restaurant

So there we were, ducking into this place during a bit of a rain shower. A couple of people were chilling at the bar. We asked if we could hang out inside with some wine and munchies. The kitchen peeps were all smiles and nods, not really speaking English but more than happy to help out. They checked in the back and then waved us on in. The place looked great but, a bit empty, with just one table taken. That's when this guy, looking like he ran the joint but probably just the bouncer, strutted over (bald, bearded guy as mentioned in other one star reviews) We thought we had hit the jackpot, until I asked if we could nab a table. His response was about as gentle as a brick through a window, "No! No! We're full." Scratching our heads, I said, "Seems like there's plenty of room." But Mr. 'Customer Service' had other plans, telling us 'we open in 30 minutes' before basically booting us out. Guess he left his manners at home that day. It's nuts how some people believe they can act however they want when they've got a steady stream of customers. You'd most likely get a friendlier welcome at a Michelin star restaurant if you rocked up wearing nothing but your birthday suit and a pair of flip-flops.

This is review for the restaurant, not hotel. So a year ago, I posted 5 star review after dining here a few times, I was so impressed. I told everybody how fab it was. I have today, after eating here deleted it, and posting this review instead reflecting today.

A year ago this was a different place, fantastic food, atmosphere, passionate service (eg Piedro), great experience. I came more than once. Took my friend here today for her birthday lunch, what a disappointment! The best thing about it was lovely Eliana, our server. Surly reception from everyone else especially guy who seems like front of house or manager, such negative vibe. Bizarre heavy music over the speaker. Oysters I guess you can't get wrong if they are fresh, but the rest?! Bland, not so fresh "ceviche" that is at best tartare, please google "ceviche" and what it entails. We added lemon juice and salt to make it remotely edible; not too fresh either. The porc iberico tasted like normal plus it was so burnt. Overcooked beyond acceptable. One got a feeling it was charcoaled ages ago and then just reheated. Terrible. Veggies ok, but €5, and cover charged for who knows what. I emailed prior to Porto visit to ask for them to do something for my friend's birthday, they agreed, nothing of course was done. But then we were desperate to get out anyway, after the inedible pork (supposedly iberico) half of which we left on the plate. Guess the fact that restaurant at the back was practically empty despite Monday being a tough day to find good restaurants open should have been a sign. Garden neglected, vertical garden wall of flowers that was such a feature now all daggy and pitiful looking - pay €50 to good gardner and fix it, we felt like saying every time we looked at that remnant of the old restaurant that was. Old chef is gone we found out, and all the wonderful staff from a year ago clearly not there, that was obvious. €89 totally for bad food with no alcohol ordered. Rip off. Not...

We went in this place throught Fork, with a 30% discount. Actually a friend of mine suggested me the place, saying me I had to bring there my father (I am spending few days in Porto with him), who worked for 30 years in a Michelen star restaurant in Taormina, Sicily, because, supposedly, it was a place with good food and nice atmosphere. We arrived there and realized immediately waiters were not attentive, at least, not with us. Every other table, once arrived, got a plate with bread, oil and butter: not for us. We've been totally ignored for around 15 minutes. After that, a waiter came, and we ordered. After around 180 seconds from the order, a vegetable soup we asked for was served. We still had not the wine we asked, not the bread we asked, but just the soup. After few minutes we got the wine and the bread: 30 minutes from our arrival passed. We got our main dishes at 21.35. Francesinha, ordered was my father, was very oily and bland, meat was not cooked enough. My risotto was, simply, a disaster: no salt in it, ingredients seemed raw, it was liquid, and a risotto can't be liquid. We asked for the bill. The waiter brought us a wrong one. We said that. She brought us another bill, again wrong one. Than she disappeared. We tried to have eye contact with her and to claim her attention, in any possible way, for 20 minutes, without success. We finally had to ask to another waiter for the right bill. The guy, very nicely, did again the receipt, a new one, so we paid and left. I think that a restaurant is not just about the food (which, by the way, was an apocalypse) but also about the service (which, was a disaster). Maybe we've been unlucky. For sure, we'll...
