There are some good people at this hotel, but unfortunately they are outnumbered by the sub par ones. Not 5 stars. I have been a guest at this hotel for over 30 nights. Although the rooms are not the newest rooms in the city, they are old actually without even smart TV's, the restaurants & service are what swayed me to stay here. I was greeted by Tarek & Sameer who are professional and all around kind, good people. However, they are overshadowed by the less than great ones. Everything was fine during my stay until recently. I eat at all the outlets. I have a regular table I eat at for breakfast and dinner. Every morning I sit at the same table. And order the same thing. There are no surprises. I also have signed my meals to my room since the beginning without any issues. Thursday night, I confirmed my dinner reservation at La Spiga myself as no one called or texted, I showed up on time only to wait over 40 minutes for my table, which was reserved 7 days prior. Not only that, I was overcharged on my bill initially. After signing, I went upstairs to my room. At approx 11:15pm I was called from the restaurant stating that someone from the front desk told them that I couldn't charge my meal, which was less than $40, and they asked if they could come upstairs to collect. I was in my pajamas. I'm a long time guest, over a month at this hotel. And over 1100 nights with Bonvoy and titanium status. I have no room balance, in fact, I have over $1,500 credit on my room as I prepaid for 2 weeks in advance and settled my prior bill less than 72 hours to this dinner. Yesterday when I went down to breakfast at the Market, the hostess Caitlan, who is an absolute pill to deal with, had given my table away. I sit at this table every single day at the same time, 10:35am. And I eat the same omelet everyday. She's done this at least 5 times most likely to wield her power as a hostess. LOL. It's not the table, it's the principle when a regular guest requests a table politely repeatedly and it gets given away repeatedly that makes an establishment not worth the trouble to eat at again. There literally is no preferential treatment even for loyal guests of the brand. Even for such a small request. My breakfast is included in my rate. I didn't eat it the last 2 days, nor will I be in the future due to these 2 incidents. Also, there is a stalker in the hotel which I've informed security about. I am uncomfortable using the gym for fear of being alone with him. There is no common sense from people who are running the front desk, with the exception of Khaldoun, everyone else is incompetent. The rooms are old. And now that the service in both restaurants is going downhill. I see no value paying to stay here. Just not worth the trouble. I will be...
Read moreTitle: Extremely Disappointing and Disrespectful Experience I am writing to express my utmost disappointment and frustration regarding the terrible service I experienced at your restaurant during a Ramadan iftar event organized by a pharmaceutical company. From the moment I arrived, the lack of professionalism, respect, and basic customer care was shocking.
Initially, the pharmaceutical company’s representative communicated with your staff and confirmed that there was an official email for the reservation. However, after 20 minutes of being taken inside, an employee informed me that there was confusion among the staff—they mistakenly thought the reservation was for suhoor (pre-dawn meal) rather than iftar (evening meal). While mistakes can happen (we are all human), the way this situation was handled was absolutely terrible.
Upon arrival, I was left standing without any assistance or guidance. Despite attempting to address the issue politely with the staff, I was met with indifference. One employee simply said, "Oh, sorry," and took me outside the restaurant, leaving me there unattended. No one bothered to check on me or apologize for the inconvenience. After waiting for 20 minutes, I was brought back inside, only to be told that the issue was still unresolved and taken outside again.
Even when my colleagues arrived, there was no one to assist us or address the situation. By the time Maghrib prayer was called, we still had no table or resolution. I had to approach the staff multiple times to express my frustration and request to speak with the manager. After 30 minutes of waiting and no solution, I was exhausted and upset by the complete lack of respect and care shown to us.
Finally, after insisting, we were given a table, but by then, it was already 10 minutes past Maghrib, and I was unable to enjoy my iftar due to the stress and exhaustion caused by this ordeal.
This experience was utterly unacceptable. The lack of organization, professionalism, and basic courtesy from your staff is inexcusable. I expected better treatment, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. While a simple apology was eventually offered, it meant nothing after the immense inconvenience and distress caused by your staff’s poor handling of the situation.
I strongly advise people not to visit this restaurant. If any problem arises, this place is completely incapable of resolving it, and customer satisfaction is clearly their lowest priority.
I will not be returning to your restaurant and will strongly advise others to think twice...
