Grandhotel Praha Tatranská Lomnica — Hotel in Vysoké Tatry

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLACE! Everything from rooms, pools, spa, massages, treatments and service was PERFECT. More than PERFECT. We spent 5 days there in February as a family of 5 with another family too. ( kids 10-17) and felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Everyone was super friendly and very VERY helpful, nothing was difficult to organise and all staff were lovely, kind and professional - Chefs, cleaners, waitresses, spa staff, ladies on the welcome desk, ski bus driver ( Laco) ... everyone! Please pass on our review to them. THEY MAKE THIS HOTEL HAPPEN!!!!! and i hope they are all appreciated. We would love to come back. I could probably write a whole essay about the food and selection of it. ..... my goodness! such high standard and always so much choice. Over the 5 nights there wasn't ONE dish which was repeated and everything was delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. Kids and us loved it. I recommend a good wine also - red wine Danube! ( i must also say it is 'dangerous' here - we enjoyed the food so much we definitely put on weight too! hahaha! :-) ) We love our rooms, they were comfortable and spacious and everything was great there. Also worth mentioning - the children were VERY MUCH WELCOMED and nothing was too much trouble and no one frowned on them at any point. Very inclusive to the young generation - Thank you! SPA and wellness was amazing also. Just great. Never overcrowded and the pool outside was just lovely after a day of skiing. I had most amazing massage i every had too, so highly recommend that. We loved tatranska Lomnica and friendly slovak people. We hired skis from ' Lomniski ' and they were very helpoful there too. The slopes were good enough for beginners and medium ability skiers and boarders, not overly busy and just enough for 5 days. slightly repetitive ( i didn't go to the black run) and as the weather wasn't cold the snow ( man made at the lower parts) was slightly melting in the afternoons, but mountains were beautiful and we felt safe in the resort and children were able to go around on their own a bit too, and not get lost. LOVED OUR STAY! 100% amazing! We can't...

Big scam and total deception! Breakfast - you need to pay for a normal coffee, orange juice and omelet. Coffee you pay extra and they serve it COLD. The hotel staff doesnt speak English or they act as they don´t want to help you. There is no coffee or tea machine in the room. The dinner was extremly poor. It was a drama! We paid 340€ per day of our stay and we received the evening meal worth maximal 5€ per person (!).And as a joke they serve it wearing with white gloves! Total scam! Shameless cheating! There was no choice. Salad was just leafes and a few tomatoes. The soup was often not eatable. Once we had to wait 1,5 hr for spagetti. When it was served it was a very simple cooked pasta mixted with a spoon of pesto and 2 tomatos on the top (which everyone can make in 5 min). The cook could work at some prison but not at a hotel. He can't cook at all. Unique normal meal quality was during New Year Eve. We received this kind of dinner every evening in Austria or Switzerland when we were there on a ski holidays and for the same money! Price-quality service range of the hotel is completely out of balance! We felt cheated and scammed. Never again!

Una estafa total y un gran engaño! El desayuno muy deficiente. Hay que pagar por un café normal, un zumo de naranja y una tortilla cuando la estancia ya es suficientemente cara. El personal del hotel no entiende ningún otro idioma que eslovaco y si le hablas inglés se hace tonto, para no ayudarte. La cena era una gran estafa. Era muy deficiente y sabía a la comida del hospital. Los ingredientes de mala calidad que en total podían valer máximo 5€ por persona, que te sirven en los guantes blancos (!) Hojas de ensalada adornados con tres tomates simbólicos, sopa de manteca de cerdo de aspecto asqueroso totalmente incomible. Palabras como: sacarina, leche de soja o leche desnatada todavía quedan por descubrir en este establecimiento... Si eres vegetariano ya no te digo... La relación de calidad precio es lamentablemente un gran...

We just spend 7 nights in GHP. I was there with wife and 2,5 years old son. We had big room with balcony and great view. Location of the hotel is superb. In hotel restaurant we took only breakfasts, and It wasn’t best choice, because every day they served exactly the same. Cold and hot station was same for 7 days! A little changes happened at platers with fruits (kiwi was just once and melon twice) and pastry station. I am vegetarian so I had limited options, but if you are vegan avoid this hotel – It was absolutely nothing for you except fruits and plain bread, and drinks. Coffee was excellent, also the service.

Wellness area is cool. Indoor swimming pool is quite small as the outside heated pool, but was never crowded. There was nothing for small, no swimming toddlers under 1.60 cm height.

We took room with double bed, but it was two connected beds with gap between. It is problem when your baby wants to sleep with you. One have to sleep on the gap. They also gave us two „personal” separate duvet, so actually we slept separate on double bed (sic!). Don’t get the idea. Nice thing was that they gave our son, a nice crib whit baby linings. He slept with us but it was something he could play with.

They gave him baby shampoo and body milk. It was no children size rope fore him. Ours were very big and heavy, but it was ok cause may XS wife is pregnant:)

To sum up, our main complain is absolutely boring breakfast and some bed inconvenience. Maby we will back again, but I hope they improve breakfast menu soon.

Advice: GoPass is a game changer in this regions. Helps to save many euros if you take cable lifts up mountains, and also you don’t have to wait in lines to buy ticket. Buy it at the reception...
