Complaint made by us (and other guests) about unacceptable behaviour of other guests. This was not dealt with effectively by management and culminated in us being attacked by manager and owner. ||||We were excited to be staying in this hostel and were looking forward to a peaceful night's sleep before hiking the next morning, but unfortunately the time we spent at this hostel was nothing but a nightmare. ||||- hostel FULL of young (18-20 somethings) who were in Bled to party, and use the hostel to pre-drink in before going out to bars||- there are posters on walls saying 'please be quiet after 10pm', but due to no staff in the hostel past 10pm, it is impossible for them enforce this rule. As a result, visitors were riotous: playing loud music, screaming, slamming doors, hanging out and drinking in corridors past midnight. On one occasion, this culminated in physical violence breaking out in the hostel, damaging hostel property and even attempting to break into other guests' rooms. ||- with no hostel staff around, if you find it difficult to sleep with this noise going on until 3-4am (even if you are in a private room) you will be forced to take this matter into your own hands, or you could go and extract the hostel owner from the local bar and ask her to ineffectively request that they 'try their best to keep the noise down'. ||- As a result of our unpleasant interactions with other guests, we were verbally abused and threatened by a number of guests staying in the room next to us. ||- when these issues were calmly raised with the hostel, we were told that 'we will remind the guests that they must be quiet after 10pm but there is nothing else we can do' and offered to give us a refund for our remaining nights (knowing full well that it would not be possible to get another room in peak season at short notice)||- hostel manager was aggressive down the phone when we tried to explain that we felt unsafe returning to the hostel and then sent an unsolicited and highly inflammatory...

Just a short stroll from the lake itself, this hostel offers easy access to Bled Castle, the picturesque island, and plenty of local cafés serving the famous Bled cream cake.
The hostel’s atmosphere is laid-back and social, making it easy to meet other travellers. Colleen your host is friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help with recommendations, whether you’re after a hidden hiking trail or the best place for a sunset viewpoint.
Rooms are clean and functional, with comfortable beds and secure lockers. The communal areas are a definite highlight: a spacious kitchen for cooking your own meals, a cosy lounge for relaxing, and a lovely outdoor terrace where you can soak up the alpine scenery.
One thing to note is that Travellers Haven can get quite busy, especially during the summer months, so booking ahead is a smart idea.
All in all, Travellers Haven is a fantastic base for exploring Lake Bled. It’s affordable, friendly, and perfectly located, exactly what you want in a hostel. Highly recommended for solo travellers, backpackers, or anyone looking to connect with a fun international crowd while enjoying one of Slovenia’s most iconic...
Read moreCan’t say enough positive things about this hostel.
To begin with our original hostel fell through and we were driving around Lake Bled trying to find a place to stay, and it was around 11:30 p.m so everywhere was closed. We were about to give up and just sleep the three of us in our small Volkswagen but decided to try one more hostel to see if they were open. Traveller’s Haven was closed but the owners saw our car parked outside and came and asked if we were looking for a room to stay in. They both made the effort to come out and get us checked in to a room even though they had been closed. The room was spotlessly clean, and ready for us within 15 minutes. In the morning we found the modern washrooms and showers also very clean with free towels to use. As we left they let us know the best breakfast spots in the central town which was around a 3 minute walk. All in all nothing negative to say at all.
Great communication skills Best hospitality Spotlessly clean Modern Washrooms Five minute walk from great lake views Three minute walk from the central...
