Restaurant & Wine Bar Murka — Restaurant in Bled

We were recommended this place by one of the locals who said if you want some authentic Slovenian food this is one of the best in Bled. So after a long day exploring the beautiful surroundings we stopped by here. I love my food and even when service isn't great i usually be British and suck it up and deal with it but I have to say this is the one and only place I have ever just got up and left. Unfortunately i cant even review the food because we didn't even get that far. Upon arrival we waited for a second or two before were rudely pointed in the direction of a table by a particularly abrasive skinny waiter who then slung 2 menus on the table before disappearing again. I know people who would have just got up and left right then and there but we stuck at it for a chance to order.

After about 10 minutes eventually the waiter returned in a huff as if he was busy yet the restaurant wasn't even half full and proceeded to take our order. we ordered a red and a white wine a starter and 2 mains all in quick succession, when asking him for a recommendation on one of the dishes he huffed again and said there all ok, and when asking for some water for the table he interrupted half way through with a stern yes. We were both ready to leave but he quickly returned with the wines which i'm pretty sure were not the ones we asked for and mine even had a nice juicy fly in it, but he had shot off again before i got the chance to mention.

We both looked at each other and thought lets do one and get out of here, but sat for a few minutes when we saw a that a large group of locals came in and were instantly seated and given drinks and table water when he couldn't even get that for us. Enough was enough so we stood up and walked out. I don't think there is any excuse for this level of neglect of service and would tell any traveler to steer clear of this place as they obviously have...

This was our favorite restaurant in Bled - really our favorite of our entire trip. We enjoyed it so much, that we came back the next night as well! Both servers were personable and offered great, honest recommendations and our waiter the second night, Novak, was great to talk with. He really made our experience even better! The first time I went I had the cheese and meat plate, the mushroom soup, and a glass of reisling. The mushroom soup was out of this world amazing. Possibly the best soup I've ever had with savory, rich broth and many different varieties of mushrooms. The next night, I went with the venison with the recommend pino and was wowed again. The sauce was so good and really drew out the sweetness of the venison. It came with cheese dumplings, which really seemed to me like a type of cheese crepe, that really complimented the meal. I couldn't stop eating! Don't forget to get some of their homemade bread - it is delightful! I wish I had more room in my stomach to eat more pieces. To end the meal, we had a Slovenian blueberry liquor that was delicious. Definitely worth trying. The flavor was great even to my friend who doesnt drink much. The atmosphere was great as well. I fully recommend...

Very rude staff! Mediocre food. I work as an archaeologist at Bled Castle and sometimes I come here with colleagues for lunch. Today (3rd time) I came alone and the waitress refused at first to offer me the options for lunch saying that it's only for locals. When I said that I ate lunch here before she rolled her eye and said oki but then she almost refused to tell what the vegetarian option is as last two times I had vegetarian and it was oki-ish. Today somehow they only had some fries with meat and a salad so I took that because I had no time to go somewhere else and, ate the veggies. Took the meat thing home for my dog. First time we ate here the waiter completely ignored us for 15 minutes and then he forgot to bring the dessert all together. Today, when I went to pay, which usually was 5 euro, now was 5,50 and it happened that i only had 5. So I apologised and said i will return the money with my colleagues tomorrow. She rolled her eyes again. The staff act like they want bad reviews. After I'm paying the 0.50 euro I'M NEVER COMING BACK...
