Firstly, we did not realise how popular this place would be amongst the tourists in Bled, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you are set on coming to the Art Cafe Bar. We did reserve a table, so we were seated and served quickly but as the night progressed, the wait increased as the place got busier.

I ordered Radler - draft beer and Fanta but I am fairly certain it was just a pint of draft, not Fanta but the beer was drinkable and I did not complain. Cocktails are well made and not an awful price compared to the rest of Europe and the UK. However, it seemed they were running out of components as the night went along, which is understandable as like I mentioned it gets busy.

I was very satisfied with my food, the bacon and truffle risotto - basically a twist on a classic bacon and mushroom carbonara, swapping the pasta for rice. Unfortunately, my girlfriend who is vegetarian ordered the vegan burger and was less impressed with her meal. The burger lacked any structure and tasted overly processed, for something that is meant to be vegan. She was not a fan of the tomato puree instead of a traditional sauce and even the buns were lifeless and soggy.

Everything was however, very filling. Staff could be a little more attentive but again on a busy night it is understandable. Prices are definitely reflective of it not being a place for locals, but for easy eating, I would recommend it due to the vast variety, as long as you are not vegetarian inclined.

EDIT We have since been back to the Art Cafe. We tried a couple of pasta dishes, some of the smoothies and a lunch time offering of a toastie. Again food is good. Nothing to write home about. It would seem the further you go into their menu, the less the individual dishes stand out.

By far the biggest problem was the lack of attention given by the waiting staff. They are all very polite but the second time going, it was the middle of the week - very quiet, maybe only half a dozen people in the restaurant. The waiting staff, however, nowhere to be seen. We were going to stay for another drink but considering we had to leave the table to find staff to pay the bill; stay...

Good food, extremely bad service.

Waitress didn't know what a caipirinha is even when it is on the card My girlfriend ordered a monkey 47 gin with tonic. Gin served as a shot without any ice and/or lemon/lime. We ordered pizza Margarita with extra dry salami. Upon receipt we noticed we received a pizza ham (ham, mozarrella, mushrooms) and after telling the waitress this was not what we ordered we get a bad look and she was saying brutally that there is no salami on a Margarita and only after telling her that my girlfriend is allergic for mushrooms she took away the plate. While waiting on the new pizza she was complaining to some other customers about us Upon receipt of 2nd pizza we noticed it was exactly the same pizza as the first one, but without mushrooms We decided to eat thé wrong pizza, which was of good Taste by the way, to leave as soon as possible and after receiving thé bill we noticed that the Margarita with extra salami was billed and not thé one we ate (cheaper one)

We didn't want to make a scene so we paid and left. We are convinced that others might have had good experiences with this place with different waiters/waitresses, but this was the worst...

First impressions were very good - cosy environment, nice music, tasteful decor. Unfortunately, things soon took a turn for the worst. I ordered a burger and was asked how I wanted it. I replied well done but the meat cane back raw. Not rare. Raw. Ok, it happens, I thought. I waited patiently for the replacement to come. By the time it had arrived, my wife and kids had already finished but that's ok.

And then, unbelievably, the second burger was even more raw then the first! (See pic). At that point I just gave up. Who on earth can't cook a simple burger? It's not rocket science.

To add insult to injury, the bill was wrong too. A brief look at the menu and I realised that for some items the menu price in English was different to the menu price in Slovenian. I don't think it was a deliberate attempt at fraud but I still didn't like it. Incompetence?

The only reason this isn't getting one star is because the waitress was very friendly and apologetic. I could tell how embarrassed she was about the whole thing. At least one person in that restaurant...

stylish café off the lake in “downtown” Bled. omelettes, egg dishes, toasts with toppings such as fresh berries, etc, and yogurt bowls with different add-ons were the breakfast menu here. I chose an omelette with prosciutto and mozzarella while my DW chose a yogurt bowl with blueberries, cashews, and pomegranate seeds. the omelette was unusual in that it was more like an egg pancake, flat and filling the plate. the cheese was cooked in but the prosciutto was laid on top and had been heated similar to bacon which unfortunately brought out the quite salty flavor. a few basil leaves dropped on top with a smattering of balsamic vinegar added some zest. I wouldn’t order again. the yogurt bowl was beautifully presented and clearly enjoyed by DW but that yogurt was much too sour for my taste (they all are really). The service was personable and the meal was a decent value.
