Villa Alice — Local services in Bled

Stress and arrogance! Noise and no swimming pool. People looking into your room. Room different than ordered. And more issues. Horror.

I never experienced such hostile and un-human behaviour like here - extremely arrogant and passive-aggresive owner. I only read about such people in books. Although other people from the serivce are very kind, everything goes via the owner and she ignores agreements made with them. Also, I got a different, much worse room than ordered but this was not the biggest issue and I did not complain about it. The owner went ballistic cause I kindly asked for...a boiled water or a kettle and I did not accept the rude way in which I was informed that they do not provide it ("read again" referring to an email - sent two weeks after I made the reservation - where they stated only that the kitchen use is paid. They also refused to tell me how much when I asked).

Vila doesn't have many of facilities they declare starting with closets in rooms - I had to keep my clothes in a suitcase, no coffee house and finally no actual swimming pool - there are only two jacuzzis, one of them big so kids could play in it but no swimming possible. Not to mention I got no invoice or confirmation of the payment as I was ordered (not asked!) to leave the premise immediately after checkout.

Luckily I booked only one night and moved to a much better place: not so noisy, cheaper & closer to the center for the rest of the stay. 80EUR during high season here is too much, even if not the owner's...

Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Baby, who greeted me at the doorway with a smile. After a smooth registration process, I was guided to my duplex apartment. The space exceeded my expectations—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The lower level featured an inviting living and dining area, complete with a fully-equipped kitchen stocked with all necessary appliances. Upstairs, I found a cozy bedroom, a small sitting area, a balcony, and a bathroom. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, complemented by two plush pillows that made for a restful night's sleep.

I especially appreciated the small, thoughtful touches—luxurious bathrobes, a mini fridge on the upper floor, and L’Occitane toiletries added a touch of indulgence. Breakfast was a feast, with a generous loaf of bread, two large jars of jam, eggs, cereal, milk, apple juice, pastries, and fresh fruit, offering plenty of variety.

The location was perfect—just a five-minute walk to the lake and the nearby restaurants in the city center. A special mention to Baby, whose outstanding service attitude stood out. She consistently greeted me with a smile and was always available to assist with any queries or information I needed. Her warm, friendly, and approachable demeanor truly enhanced my stay.

Without a doubt, this was the best accommodation I experienced during my week in Slovenia. However, I've to mention that the WiFi is not stable and the connection tends to drop off...

We were told that Vila Alice has a great reputation. Maybe when it was used to temporarily house patients who were having dental work done by the original owner. The current owner has no idea what the hospitality industry and polite, welcoming behavior is all about.|| We arrived to an empty house. After calling a number, someone finally arrived to check us in. Before we went upstairs to our hot room, we were told that we can use the dishes in the kitchen but cannot cook or use the bar or coffee equipment in the kitchen. We were instructed to go down the street in the morning after 7 to the bar, next to the bakery, where they make coffee. The person who checked us in told us that the hot tub doesn't work. The balcony for our room looks over the parking lot and the main street coming into town. No idea where the lake was. AC finally began to work. We found another hotel that day which had normal guest services and a beautiful view of Lake Bled. The next morning as we were about to check out, a lady was talking on her phone and putting dishes away in the kitchen . Did not speak to us or interact. As we checked out, I asked the lady who she was. She said she was the owner. I have never been treated so indifferently by a hotel owner or hostess before.
