I came here a few years back, but wanted to write a review after I had one particular item on the menu. Now that I had it, it's time to share a review.
Fom the first time I had a good feeling about this place. I still remember the first burger I ate here was a spicy burger, and it was certainly delightful.
A few months back I ate a regular Mega Burger, which of course had plenty of meat in it, as these are quite large burgers.
Today I decided to complete a challenge I set for myself: To eat their Double Mega Burger, which is as what you would expect: a Mega Burger with two patties and a serving of fries alongside it, and it was good to the last bite. If there is one thing I would mention as a critique, is that there is perhaps a bit too much sauce in the burgers, which more often than not leads to a messy eating. But at least you get enough napkins to wipe yourself off.
One thing I also consider worth mentioning is the ambiance. The radio is tuned to a radio station that often plays really pleasant music, often country music. And with the lake in view in the far distance it places the street restaurant in a very cozy location. Also the bus stop is around the corner so you can eat and then jump on the bus.
In short: This is the best burger place I had the pleasure to eat at, which puts it in competition with the best burger place I encountered in Tržič (For which I also wrote a review of). Do consider...
Read moreAN EXTREMELY SOLID BURGER PLACE!!! they really should think about expanding their business…that’s how good it is… they’re not lying when they say MEGA burger cause the burgers are HUGE. we got the mega burger and it really is GINORMOUS. it’s literally as tall as my iphone….
the burgers are also winners in terms of taste. we got the truffle and the pablo as well and both were extremely enjoyable and executed super well. bread was buttered and toasted nicely, creating a nice crust around the edges. the meat was seasoned just enough and there was also a sufficient meat crust developed, giving the whole burger that extra crunch, which contributed to the amazing balance of textures. the sauces were really good as well and in the right amount, not making the burger too wet (truffle and basil sauce respectively, while the mega burger has a bbq sauce).
i would say if you’re going for size definitely go for the mega cause it’s really value as well (13.50 euros for a HUGE burger, honestly equivalent to 2 burgers, and with a small fries). but if you want something more novel and foodgasmic go for the truffle
fries were really good as well. crispy outside, fluffy inside and salted well. they really live up to their name and i commend them for that. just take note that there’s no seating (except 2 chairs) and there’s just a standing area with...
Read moreTLDR - price is decent, HOWEVER - be skeptical about the good reviews, go read some of the bad one's before you drive/walk here.
We ate here 2 times. The first time we were quite disappointed - the burgers were somewhat tasty but were full of sauces to the point of being soggy. My chips were ok, while my partner clamed her's were dry and tasteless.
The second time was also disappointing. Same problem as before, and this time we went with their "Mega burger". My burger had salty spots (some bites were saltier then others) and my partner had way to much barbeque sauce in her's
Additionally, the seating area is not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination, and fairly dirty. We wiped our table with a wet wipe we had on hand. They have a sign that says "we are not fast food, if you order take-away dont sit in thia area...". What part of this is not fast food?! The food? Arguable. The seating (or rather, standind)? I had been at many street and fast food places with better seating then this (look at pictures other people posted).
Lastly, I do not know if this is related to the new credit-card scanners because I saw them in other places, but being prompted to pay A TIP for a self service, self cleaning, stand-up dining that claimes to "not be fast food", is pretty shamless...
