The location is great. Just beneath the castle (about 10 minutes uphill walk), very close to the lake, and being an actual old parish house, next to the church. The staff is very friendly. And I mean very friendly. Always greeting you with a smile, asking if you need anything else, ... Easily the best staff I've seen work at a hotel. The rooms are great. The only thing I personally missed was a refrigerator, but then again, you're not supposed to bring your own food in the room. Otherwise, the bathroom is great, bedroom is super. As I've mentioned before, the staff is really friendly, so they'll change your towels and bedsheets daily, if that's your jazz, we told them there's no need. The breakfast is a treat. A wide variety of choices, and plentiful portions. The coffee isn't all that good, but that seems to be the only problem this place has. The ice cream they make is fantastic. There's a little store with souvenirs also. The souvenirs are a tad bit on the expensive side, but that's Bled, souvenirs are expensive no matter where you go. In general, it was fantastic. And actually quite a bit cheap for Bled. Other locations that don't come even near this standard often charge 25% more...
Read moreGreat stay. We appreciated the spacious parking nearby that's only for guests. The location itself is great, just next to the steps for the castle and just 5 mins to lakeside and the centre of Bled, however, felt much more isolated and quiet which was nice. Breakfast good with eggs as an option and meats, cheeses, overnight oats, fruit, etc. which set us up well for our days exploring. Rooms were done nicely, more modern than I expected and there was 10% discount at the cafe and shop but actually there was also a tea and coffee station for guests on the first floor so we got tea at night for free to take to the room or sit there on the sofa.
The only thing I would mention is that we went for an early walk and came back to relax at 12pm but they were cleaning other rooms. There's no "do not disturb" or "clean my room" sign so they walked in on us (thankfully clothed!) and then didn't go back to clean our room when we went out at 1/2pm later on. Maybe just...
Read moreProbably the nicest view I've had from a bathroom window in quite some time! Right next to the church (as you might guess from the name), at the foot of the mountain where the castle is located, and on a hill overlooking the lake (source of the nice view; the main window had a good view too, but not as dramatic). Every staff member was super nice and helpful, and the breakfast was charming - try the homemade jams and cheese spreads. Our room was very comfortable, with an A/C unit (it was VERY hot in Lake Bled when we were there), but we didn't even need to run the A/C very much - the thick walls of building kept the temperature pretty regulated...
