Splendid Inn Umhlanga — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

Reception daytime on duty was not helpful and unwelcoming Need to improve customer service and experience Restaurant support very poor leaving tables uncleared and quite unfriendly Bar staff loud with own staff gossip in front of guests Not attending to whether we would like to order or not and quite disturbing to us trying to do some work Splendid Management was solutions orientated about reception staff challenges experienced So that was good. Please advise for more customer focused training for improved customer success and experience

Please consider availing bar fridges in rooms it elevates the holiday experience just even to have a place to keep cold Water.

Twin beds must please still be made as one bed instead of 2...

It was one of the top hotels where I have stayed. The location is very good, the area is well kept and clean, and it feels safe. Friendly hotel staff and amazing rooms. Will definitely recommend a stay here. If you feel adventurous, you could try to walk to the beach (be warned, it is quite a distance), the mall is also not to far from the hotel with various restaurants in the vicinity. Meals served at the hotel are very tasty and well prepared. There is also a well stocked bar area - bit pricy, R25 for a can of coldrink. The room does have a fridge where coldrink and other shop baught items...

Rooms were stunning and clean. Lots of towels in the bathroom and overall great atmosphere. You are able to see the beach in the distance from your room. The staff were pleasant, I had an issue with being assigned the wrong room but that was quickly resolved. I am removing 1 star because there is no bar fridge in the room and the air conditioner could only come on once I manually turned on the plug point. This hotel is also a short walking distance from Gateway Mall and a short drive to Umhlanga lighthouse. Overall, it is worth it...
