Stayed here for 3 nights with my mum in the beginning of February and what a location. It’s a very cheap, budget hotel but considering where it is I think it’s an absolute steal! We didn’t need to walk more than 15 minutes to get anywhere. The hotel is right off of Las Ramblas and 5 minutes down from Placa Catalunya. We got the airport bus to here which only took around 30 minutes, if that. Check in was quick & easy and our room was on the first floor. It was spacious and clean, powerful, hot shower and new towels every day as well. There was a vending machine for drinks as well as a coffee machine which was okay - good to just nip out and grab one if we wanted in the morning! There is a lovely cafe across the road where you can get the most amazing fresh sandwiches and there are a couple of little bars/restaurants within feet of the hotel, none of which are overly expensive. We also didn’t hear much noise during the night - we did that much walking that we were exhausted at night so slept like babies! In my opinion, if you’re waking up during the night you’re not making the most of your days here lol! My only negative is lack of storage in the room so we had to leave everything in our cases for the few days we were there but that wasn’t too much of an issue! This is a perfect base for exploring Barcelona, loved it so much that I’ve already looked into booking to come back...
Read more2 stars budget hotel with even lesser amenities than the minimum expected, like a decent size bed for a couple or noise-proof walls and windows; even for the not-so-low price. Walls are paper-thin and you can hear your neighbours talking, laughing, baby crying, etc! You are getting almost nothing else than a centric location to walk-by to almost every point of interest in Barcelona and nearby restaurants, stores and supermarkets. However, if you are looking for a little extra comfort and some good nights of sleep, this might not be a right choice for you and/or your family. The only elevator is tiny and claustrophobic and was out of service a couple of times during our instance there. Rooms are not very clean and space around the bed is minimum. Cleaning personnel is nice and gentle, but receptionists are not as pleasant nor attentive as expected. Anyways, if you still choose to book a room here, make sure to bring earplugs and your own shampoo/conditioner, at a bear minimum. However, it was first and...
Read moreMy experience here was a bit of a mixed bag tbh.
The good: The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and fixed every problem as they came up The rooms were comfy It's a fantastic location The balcony was very cool The air conditioning works great
The bad: All but one time I tried to get back into my room, the key card didn't work. The staff gave me a new one each time, but this was quite frustrating The shower was a nightmare; both the temperature and pressure fluctuate a whole lot every 10 seconds or so. The temperature goes from slightly too cold, to slightly too hot, which just makes the whole thing quite uncomfortable. The fluctuating pressure paired with the awkward shower head holder, meant that would frequently fall out and cause havoc There was no bin in the room, this felt like an oversight On the last day, the towels were taken from the room and not replaced The street below can be very noisy, and there's not much by way of insulation from sound...
