Horrible Experience – Unsafe Conditions and No Deposit Refund! I stayed one night at Hotel Cortes Rambla, Barcelona on July 31. Upon arrival, the receptionist told me something in my room was broken but couldn’t explain what, due to poor English. When I returned to the room around midnight, I discovered a huge glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom completely shattered into thousands of pieces, making strange cracking noises. At first, I wasn’t even sure if it was a design feature or a dangerous situation. Being heavily pregnant and exhausted, I tried to sleep, but the noises were unbearable throughout the night. The next morning, I talked to the receptionist about the problem. Shockingly, they still rented out the room to the next guest despite the obvious safety hazard. This is extremely dangerous and irresponsible! To make things worse, I never got my €100 deposit back. One week later I called the hotel, and they told me the money was “on the way.” Now it’s been 5 weeks, and I’ve still received nothing. I have called and emailed several times, only to be redirected to different email addresses or empty promises that someone would “take care of it.” I’m not even asking for compensation for the horrible night and unsafe conditions (although it would be more than justified) – I just want my deposit back. The lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable. This hotel put me in danger, wasted my time, and is withholding my money. Absolutely unprofessional and feels like a scam. Do not stay here!

We booked the Triple Room with Terrace for 3 nights. It was a great balance of space for 3 adults, location, and affordability. Not perfect, but pretty good for what it was able to offer. -Location is not on the main street which is good, but close enough to be there in a few minutes. -Terrace was nice for some fresh air but it happened to be a little cold and rainy while we were there. -Some might find the church bells noisy. -No safe in the room. -Drinking water dispenser downstairs -Inbound taxi wasn't able to drop us at the front door. So we had to haul our luggage about 5-10 min. -Outbound taxi (arranged by front desk) picked us up on time and right outside. Recommended for a balance of nice, affordable, and conveniently located.

I gave them 2 stars for the good location and staff was very helpful. About the rest is the worst hotel I have ever been .I travel a lot and I know you get what you pay for .but I paid the same money for other hotels and was a way much better than this hotel . The room was not clean and really old .the heater wasn't working and makes a hill of noise you will never sleep .small room with a very large terrace full of dust and they have just one plug on the room they gave us extension because you don't know how to charge your phones or use the tv . I really don't recommend this place for anyone And I will never return there even if for free . Couldn't sleep for two nights .

I made the mistake of booking this hotel through my Booking.com account. Just two minutes after completing the reservation, I realized I had selected the wrong dates. When I tried to correct this on Booking.com, I was informed that the hotel itself decides whether or not to apply the cancellation fees—which, in this case, is the full amount of the booking.||I requested the cancellation immediately—only two minutes after booking. I even called the reception, but while they were polite, they refused to offer any assistance and simply provided an email address. It seems this hotel doesn’t allow for any human error, even within five minutes of a reservation.||I understand that I agreed to the cancellation policy, but let me remind you that the hospitality industry is built on understanding and flexibility. If you prefer to operate like machines, perhaps it’s time to reconsider your approach to customer service.||This experience has been incredibly disappointing. I will ensure the room remains empty, losing €250, and will leave a detailed review on Booking.com to warn other guests to be cautious when...

Title: Disappointing Experience – Cash Deposit Not Refunded

Review: Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at Hotel Cortes Rambla.

Although the location is good, the management is highly unprofessional. I paid 100 EUR in cash as a deposit, and despite clear written confirmation that it would be refunded at check-out, the hotel failed to return it. I only received 50 EUR later via bank transfer, with no explanation and after multiple follow-ups.

Their delay caused me to miss my flight, which led to unnecessary expenses and emotional distress.

Additionally, I was charged 22 EUR in tourist tax, even though I stayed alone, which seems excessive.

I tried to resolve the issue politely, but I was ignored and misled. I strongly advise future guests to avoid paying cash, and to be cautious about communication with the reception staff.

Very disappointed – would not...
