Interested in trying out this new restaurant and although only a 10 minute walk from my apartment I would not return !
The evening was a bit of a disaster from start to finish. We were a party of 8 and arrived to find the table was in a “private dining” area which I likened to sitting in my living room it was so far away from the main restaurant and lacked any kind of atmosphere which we were wanting. I would not usually complain but it was either move us or leave so they accommodated which I give them credit ……just something to be aware of if you are a larger group but wanting to be in mix
Having found us a table in the main restaurant, we were looking forward to the evening ahead.
In respect to the food, I have to say I was very underwhelmed by the dishes. The ingredients were clearly of a good quality but the seasoning and taste were very very average. Of all things from the evening this surprised me the most
The service was ok……not bad but not exceptional. For example at one stage we sat as a table without drinks for 20 mins and asked twice for someone to take an order but we’re not attended too. Surely Saturday night you need to maximise revenue and from what I could see they have more then enough staff on duty so something is clearly wrong. It wasn’t until the next day when I looked thru the bill that I realised we were missing at least 3/4 bottles of wine off our bill did I have a wry smile and understand now why the bill was less then I was expecting !!!!!!
Turning now to the atmosphere ……we have been to most of the places in Madrid of similar venue ie Giselle, Fanatico etc etc and this place doesn’t live upto them in any way shape or form. The music I will admit was probably the best I have heard so the DJ is doing something right but thjs place just lacks something and I can’t put my finger on it because after dinner it didn’t turn into a nightclub but also you wouldn’t want to continue to sit at your table as people were starting to occupy the space.
As we all walked out we all agreed not to return so it’s one and...
Read moreWhat an utter disappointment this place turned out to be. Despite the hype, it's a prime example of how having resources doesn't automatically translate to a successful restaurant. The food here is mediocre at best, and the dining experience leaves much to be desired.
Let's start with the steak tartare. It arrived warmer than it should ever be served, a basic mistake that completely ruined the dish. It’s supposed to be cool and refreshing, not tepid. Then there was the mozzarella tart, which was decent but nothing to write home about. The grilled octopus, however, was a disaster. It was drowned in sauce, to the point where the actual octopus was almost an afterthought. Every single plate lacked seasoning and demonstrated a worrying lack of cooking skills.
And don’t even get me started on the wine. Whoever decided it was acceptable to serve wine at such a warm temperature needs a serious wake-up call. It was like they had stored the bottles in an oven. Absolutely appalling.
The environment inside was stiflingly hot, easily reaching 35 degrees. It was unbearable, and to make matters worse, the staff seemed completely indifferent. No apologies, no attempts to make the guests comfortable – just rude and uninterested service throughout the meal.
To add insult to injury, the total cost was over 250€. For that price in Madrid, you can find countless restaurants offering far superior food and service.
If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s a hyped-up disaster that fails to deliver on even the most basic expectations of a...
Read moreWe went with a friend in a Friday night, and we were really hyped up because Rhudo’s food is a creation of Paco Roncero chef. However, it was disappointing. We ordered: “fideos con carabineros” (min. 2 pp) 2 glasses of wine 2 cocktails called Rhudo 2 apple pie dessert, but for some reason only 1 was served to the table
The “fideos” were good cooked, nonetheless, it was as big as an individual portion (it is supposed to be for sharing) and the carabineros were more similar to a bad version of a red shrimp. Additionally, the 3 were the skinniest possible and dry.
2 glasses of wine served as much as you can drink it all in 3 small and delicate sips.
2 cocktails really on point (a really good recommendation of our waitress when describing our preferred drink).
And regarding the apple based dessert. It came with a vanilla ice cream (really good and flavorful) and a mini “casserole” with a cut like a rose baked apple. A very good presentation but its taste was very “the baked apple dessert from the bar next to your university/work”.
In conclusion, if you love food and are expecting a good and tasty meal. Do not go. If you love being seen, it is your spot.
PS: the so enormous cube in their pictures, it looks like made of...
