We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Palma Riad to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in early September. The experience was exceptional from start to finish, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return for another special occasion.||Staff|From our first email enquiry, the staff were responsive and helpful. Upon arrival at noon, Ana at reception warmly welcomed us, stored our luggage, and gave great recommendations while we waited for our room. Every staff member we met was friendly, especially young Carlos at reception, who consistently greeted us with a smile. A standout moment: my wife burned her finger at dinner one night, and Carlos went out after his shift at midnight to buy cream from a pharmacy – truly above and beyond.||Room (Suite 8)|Located on the 2nd floor at the front of the building, our suite was spacious, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped with thoughtful touches like Molton Brown toiletries, GHD hair tools, a balcony, and daily water and chocolates with turndown service. A bottle of chilled Cava awaited us on arrival – a lovely gesture. The bathroom featured a large bathtub with an integrated shower. Despite being in the city, the room was perfectly quiet. Beach towels and a beach bag were also provided.||Food|Breakfast was served in the charming courtyard and included an à la carte menu, a small buffet, and complimentary Cava. The food and service were both excellent. With only 8–9 tables, we had to wait briefly on the first morning but were seated comfortably in the bar area. While the hotel doesn’t serve dinner, the area is full of fantastic restaurants, including a Michelin-starred spot just a few doors away.||Location|Perfectly located on a quiet, narrow street (still accessible by car/taxi), the hotel is within walking distance of many key sights—about 10 minutes to the cathedral. During our stay, a local festival with a free Saturday night concert added to the atmosphere. Palma itself is beautiful, full of impressive architecture and an abundance of dining options.||Access to Sister Hotel|Guests can use the facilities at the nearby sister property, Nakar Hotel (a 5-minute walk). Carlos kindly arranged access for us. We enjoyed their rooftop pool and bar, as well as the basement spa to freshen up after a beach day before our evening flight. The Nakar staff were also very welcoming.||Checkout|Checkout was smooth and hassle-free. We left our luggage at the hotel until the evening...
Read moreI've been sat trying to think of what to say in this review but I'm struggling because I can't pinpoint one part of my experience staying at the Palma Road hotel that wasn't incredible. Even before I arrived I was contacted to ask if I had any questions, and if I required anything. On arrival I was warmly greeted and personally shown around the hotel. The room I had booked was one of the best I have ever stayed in - the 'deluxe' room comes with a TV in the mirror, an enormous bed, snacks and drinks in the minibar and it was incredibly quiet. The hamman style bathroom was enormous, and well worth the wait to fill the giant tub. The products smelled amazing and there were even more on offer on request. The cocktail bar in the evening had some great choices and the staff were on hand to make some fantastic recommendations for dinner for my friend and I. Breakfast was lovely and more than enough. The whole place smelled divine, to the point of I actually purchased some of the fragrance the hotel uses. Genuinely, genuinely sad to have left and only spent a day here. I hope the staff know they have probably ruined all hotel stays for me from now on. From the hand written note on arrival to the manager's contact details, to the named service - I felt incredibly valued at as a guest. I will absolutely...
Read moreNow don’t get me wrong, the location of this small hotel is great, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The place is modern, clean and tidy and the rooms have everything you need including GHD straighteners and hair dryer. The hotel doesn’t have a pool (and if we hadn’t enquired we would never have known) but you can use the nearby sister hotel Nakar for free (which was lovely and a place we would highly recommend). The reason for 3 star is purely down to value for money. For £600 a night for a ‘suite’ (it wasn’t a suite it was an average sized room and nice sized bathroom) it simply wasn’t great value. The bar is nice but was very small and never appeared to be busy and the rooms are so dark it makes getting ready quite difficult. The Hotel Born next door is half the price and has a vibrant courtyard with a buzzing bar scene, probably where we will book next time. In summary it was nice but for the price was not great...
