Ideally situated for access to the whole of the Seville sights and attractions. Helpful staff and to be fair it was a nice hotel with reasonable size rooms for short stays?! We opted for the additional breakfast which was beautifully presented and the staff were happy to help if you needed it..... Cons - the heated food keeper could've been a bit bigger as it was only big enough to hold a small quantity of beans (which was often depleted), tiny sausages and scrambled eggs (fried eggs were brought out on a plate and put on the counter, so they got cold!) Also the counter was quite high up, so me being only 5'4" I couldn't see the contents of the heated food thing anyway, I just had to scoop around with a spoon and hope! If you only wanted the continental (processed cold meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit there was a good selection -see photos)
The marble floors looked amazing, unfortunately synthetic soles squeaked like mad (late night/early morning departures were easily heard) - which brings me on to 1 reason for dropping a star...... The walls must be so thin, we could easily hear people's conversations etc and the only window opened into the building overlooking a stairwell with rooflights, so no real daylight (would be quite depressing if you did a long stay, and as it was right next to the bed it felt overlooked) the only room that was relatively 'soundproof' for want of a better term was the bathroom, which was very nicely done out - then the 2nd and more important reason for doing a star...... Lovely that bathroom essentials were supplied (though it would've been helpful if that had been noted on the website) they were individually packaged in plastic and replaced every day even if they weren't fully used?! Shampoos and shower gels were taken from the shower, the bar of soap taken from the sink and replaced with brand new ones in more plastic (the vanity kit package contained 2 cotton wool pads and eat buds with wooden sticks, so tick to that) AND the towels were replaced every day, no notice to patrons about conserving water and putting used towels on the floor or whatever if we wanted them changing PLUS the bedding..... We did 5 nights the beds were changed at least twice in that time - once would've been more than enough if at all.... To sum up, we enjoyed our 5 night stay in the main, it was convenient and was more typical of a Spanish building, but maybe more could be done to address some of the issues raised and that are very...
Read moreI traveled to Seville with my wife to explore the city. This was the third stretch of our Spain trip, so we were pretty tired and looking forward to a restful stay. The first night we slept on the ground floor and we slept in quite late, until about past 10am. There was a lot of noise from the marble floors and foot traffic outside, so we asked the hotel concierge if there was a more secluded room available for the rest of our stay.
The hotel manager, Ana, was extremely invested in making sure we had the best experience. She found a room that was on the second floor and much more quiet. There was a small problem with the room and I wasn't sure I should mention it (the A/C had a small leak and was dropping onto the head of the bed near the pillows). The hotel was super booked and I could tell the hotel staff was busy by the amount of people checking in for the weekend. Since we had a tour of the Al Cazar, I decided to come back later and ask for the leak to be looked at.
Upon returning from the days activities to siesta, I stopped by the front desk and asked the concierge if there was another room available (that was also quiet and secluded, at this point I felt bad for making so many complaints in a short period of time), we were told there were no other rooms available. We returned to our room to siesta, and flipped the pillows to the foot of the bed and got some rest. We received a call from the front desk around 8-9pm and it was Ana! She had heard we stopped by the front desk to complain about the AC leak and she wanted to let us know there was another room available. She apologized for our experience and offered us a room upgrade! The new room was definitely way above what we paid for, but I appreciated Ana going above and beyond to make sure we had a quiet place to sleep after our daily activities.
Thank you Ana and Hotel Posada del Lucero staff for making our stay in Seville...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for 4 days with my husband and three year old daughter in September for my birthday.
The hotel is amazing and really modern. We booked a double room but the bed was huge and easily got the three of us in with space for more. The room had a large TV which we didnât use, a pod coffee machine and some bottles of water and a big bathroom with a shower which also had a little vanity case full of toiletries in.
They also have a nice little rooftop terrace which had lounge chairs complete with free towels for you to use and a small pool. The pool could only fit two or three people in but enough for little kids to have a swim - my daughter was in it every day.
The staff were so friendly, every single person said good morning to my daughter, they offered help with our prams and bags every time we left the hotel and gave us a map with local areas to visit. They also brought a complementary bottle of bubbly up to our room - a huge thank you to Eduardo T and Celia R.
We were also 5 minutes from the loca market which had lots of cheap fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. They also had a cute little coffee shop selling great cortados. The ibérico ham stands are a must. The best I have ever eaten.
We didnât eat any of our meals at the hotel because the hotel was surrounded by great little tapas bars - Catalina is a three minute walk but had the best spicy croquettes and patatas bravas we had whilst we were there. We were also only 15 minutes from bodeguita Romero which is a local tapas place with amazing pringa montaditos.
The Setas de Seville was a 4 minute walk from us and had amazing views of the city, as well as a fantastic light show but it starts quite late - 9pm onwards.
I would recommend this place to couples, families and solo travelers. Looking forward to coming back...
