The Ocean Front — Hotel in Colombo

Booked online after reading reviews online. Was somehow led to believe by some posts that it's a 4 star hotel. No it is not. It's wonderful little neat place with 6 rooms. Enterance is through a door (like a 3 storey house) and starts with climbing up stairs. Reception at 1st floor with a very warm and cooperative manager , Mendis. The staff ports your bag to the rooms. You got to climb 1 or 2 more sets of stairs to reach your rooms . You have about 3 rooms per floor. There is small 4 tabled dining section where breakfast is served. Break fast (tea /coffee, bread , butter , jam , plate of fresh fruits, youghurt, eggs and suasages, juice) . Rooms have basic amenities and are clean . Good if you are gonna spend most time out exploring the city and only return to crash out in the night. Lovely view of the sea from window (uninteruppted) . A mini terrace or large balcony kind of space giving you a lovely view of the sea. Great to sit at cooler parts of the day to soak in the beauty or enjoy a cup of mocha. It's small , basic , has all basic neccesinece and no fancy frills . I recommend if you are one or two ppl looking for a pocket friendly option which is decently located and right in front of the sea. The manager is very nice person. Gave me 1 complimentary breakfast despite not having it as a part of my package. I requested for. Late check-out at he helped me with few extra hours as a good will gesture . This was the best part. As a solo female traveler I was looking for a comfortable place to stay in Colombo. Ocean Front organized my airport pick up, took exceptional care of me while I stayed at the hotel, and helped organize my transportation to my next destination at a great price. The staff were so sweet and attentive. I always felt safe and comfortable. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast of string hoppers with Dahl was delicious, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and the location is very central. I’d definitely stay again if I return to Colombo. Be sure to bring ear plugs as you can hear the train. Another huge benefit is it’s one block from the grocery store (Food City) and there’s a fridge in the room.||Thanks to Ocean Front for making my stay in Colombo...

Really nice hotel! Very friendly and welcoming host and staff. At check-in, they offered chilled towels and fresh drinks. Guys also prepared the jacuzzi for us 🛁 — that was a really wonderful experience :)

The room is spacious and clean, everything looks new, really neat and comfortable — the hotel seems recently renovated.

After traveling all over Sri Lanka, we were happy to finally see shampoo and shower gel with a coconut scent, not just a bar of soap 😁

Amazing view from the hotel windows and balcony 🌊 Great location — close to supermarkets, lots of cafes and restaurants, and not far from the city center.
