The security at the entrance can be definitely promoted to serve their customers inside the hotel as the security wearing gray uniforms are well trained to handle the customers in a professional way that most of the city hotels fail to do. We had to park the car somewhere closer to the lobby as my wife was feeding our little girl. The security allowed us to park the car near the receiving bay and gave us two umbrellas to get to the lobby which was great. Unfortunately the weather was really bad and we had to take the car to the main entrance again to avoid getting wet by the rain and valet driver was helpful to park the car in a safe place

Actually the first impression was remarkable. The security was very polite and helpful unlike other hotels where only high end cars are given that hospitality.

When we walked into the reception we were briefed by a girl and guided us to the lounge. Prasanna at the lounge was very helpful as we wanted to order some heavy dinner dishes and since it was not available in his menu, he assisted us in getting a table set at the buffet restaurant without any hesitation. Thank you Prasanna for that. He in fact came after sometime to check the food satisfaction too and id we were happy with the offered table which made us feel this place has got the best staff in Colombo.

We actually went to the buffet restaurant to have some food from the a'la carte menu and after placing the order, I just happened to walk to the buffet area with our little girl to see how it looks like and then I meet this tall Chef in a black kit called Sampath who took me around the buffet and gave a superb orientation of what is available and he changed my mind to go for the buffet than having a'la carte which I thanked him personally when leaving as it was a excellent suggestion which we really enjoyed.

Food and Beverage Manager Shahran was very professional and came and checked if we were happy with what we were having and even explained to us about the hotel offerings which we actually weren't aware of. Malith was also very attentive and humble enough to treat us well.

We will definitely visit Sheraton Colombo quite often and your hospitality is more than enough to compete with the surrounded hotels as none of them can match your level of hospitality. We have been visiting your neighbours all the time not knowing your product was far more...

This relates to my buffet experience whereby I had been led to believe by media posts of the high luxurious standards Iftar buffet offered at the Sheraton. After an extremely wonderful experience at the Kingsbury the night before I had high expectations. The Sheraton provided not one roast meat, the shriveled offering as an excuse on the spit as chicken shawarma, was so dry it was inedible, it was obviously a leftover from the weekend. Apart from some very well cooked fresh fish cooked to order, the rest of the offerings were very bog standard. I raised the issues of my experience halfway through the meal with the manager in a very polite manner, " should have complained sooner " was the reply. I raised an issue at what I believed was the correct time, I did not see any prime rib or roast meat being offered so enjoyed as much as I could the fresh fish which was good. That is not the point, I had been led to believe by advertising posts of the wonderful meat offerings, sadly they are non existent......! To cap it all the manager dragged out the head chef to take my flask which was delivered politely, he had no answer as to why at such an allegedly high end establishment there was no roast meat and the only cooked meat offered was obviously old dry and inedible. Next time will be marvellous I was told, I was given no token of any kind to alleviate my disappointment, and to top it all I paid 100% more than my meal for a bottle of decent red wine to compliment my expectations, unfortunately they were catastrophically not met. I have eaten in Sheraton in Hong Kong and Bangkok, where the experiences are sublime. The manager of the Colombo experience needs to be dragged over the coals for these shambolic offerings, and not belittle the name of the company. I do not like the review system unless to highly commend an establishment, as I feel a complaint should be dealt with amically face to face at the the time.
