Stephan's Holiday Apartment — Hotel in Interlaken

Our family of 7 adults and 3 kids had a wonderful stay at Stephan’s 3 bedroom apt. Almost everything about our stay was beyond our expectations, the following are our highlights: 1) very close proximity to the train station (5 minutes walk), which allowed us to move quickly and easily with our Swiss Pass; 2) detailed and personalized information about our stay, Stephan recommended and help us book the James Bond Brunch at Schilthorn which became one of the best moments of our Swiss trip; 3) closeby groceries (migros) and well equiped kitchen that allowed us to cook meals for the whole family. Also, we were well suited with the heating and hot water, something we had trouble with at other winter airbnbs.

Stephan has several units with different sizes in the same building and the place is very clean and well maintained. Interlaken itself was beautiful and served well as our base for visiting all the surrounding locations. Stephan's apartment is located very centrally, at walking distance from the main street of Interlaken and yet, in a quiet street (you sleep very well). There are plenty of restaurants and shops just near the apartment. The apartment was sparkling clean and it was well equiped with everything you need for a comfortable stay (the washing machine was a plus!). The self check-in process was smooth as he provided very detailed and helpful guidance. There is a luggage storage place at another street near the train station, where you can place your luggage before checking in or after checking out, which was quite handy. Communication with Stephan and his team was smooth and fast, and they provided with valuable information for our stay, tips for what to do, even discounted activities such as paragliding (which I definitely recommend! We've algo got a nice treat from him for having booked it through his recommendation). We had an awesome stay thus I highly recommend...

This was not what we expected. First off, please be sure you note that rates are based per person. Even though our rental held up to 12 guests, we ended up having 8 instead of 6 and had to pay an additional fee for the 2 people. Then we found out it was a laundry service, not a washer/dryer accessible to us. So it cost us about $35 USD to do 1 load of laundry. The place is not very warm and welcoming either. Very sterile and signs with instructions posted everywhere. (Example: saying not to pee on floor) More like a hostel, not an Airbnb.
