Upon arrival I was greeted with a warm, hearty, and safe atmosphere. The dimmed lights allowed my eyes to settle and I sat down at the first open table. The cushion in the chairs was like no other. A modern beige color flooded my rump with a warm greeting and I settled into my new home away from home. I had no menu since I was meeting people there and they had already ordered. Upon asking for a menu, the beautiful, sweet waitress fetched me one with immense speed. As I ran my fingers across the bind of the leather menu, excitement overcame my entire being. I could feel my heart beat increase as the adrenaline rushed through me. Could this be what my soul has been yearning for? As I waited for my food, every second felt like an hour. Waiting for my food, I tapped my foot against my seat. Another sign of the anxiety and excitement being exuded by my physical being. When my Carbonara arrived, It felt like the air was taken from my lungs. I almost held onto my seat to stop myself from ascending. I lost all sense of control and my primal instincts kicked in. I tore into my pasta at mach speed and annihilated the delectable dressing and the tender pasta. As I got ready to leave, an overhwelming sense of melancholy flooded into me. Will I ever see RUNFT again? Do I need to move to Switzerland? The weather fit my mood as I cried the whole way to the hotel in the cold rain. I played Bring Me to Life by Evanescence over and over in my noggin until I reached my room. As I climbed into my tiny bunk bed, I felt a sense of self in me. A sense that wasn’t there before. Something in me changed. RUNFT changed me. After I left Switzerland I started a sanctuary for every endangered animal in the United States and became a Millionaire at 20 years old and RUNFT…I owe...
Read moreThis is a DISASTER! The visit of this restaurant finally spoiled the day. Still hope that my health will not be affected. We ordered 2 cordon bleu dishes and drinks. When we started to eat everything seemed to be fine but after I felt some strange texture in my mouth, I had a look at the cordon bleu and noticed that from 1/2 to 1/3 meat inside is literally raw. We asked a girl waiter if it's supposed to be like that. She replied yes. We asked again like are you sure, after that she said that she will take it back(so we even didn't have a chance to take a pic) and asked if I need one more portion. I rejected ofc. C'mon this is a pork and to eat it RAW is DANGEROUS! With all the above no one even said Sorry. But I think in normal case customer servise HAVE to adress those issues if they arose and be polite even if smth went wrong, although normal places would not serve a RAW PORK to their customers. And after long touristic day we even didn't have any energy to figure things out with personnel. In the end when we asked for a bill my husband said on his own that we are not going to pay for the second dish. Just after this weird experience I was really afraid of going to a cafe/restaurant in Switzerland. This is...
Read moreWe were on the hunt for a reasonably priced dinner. This is Interlaken though, so such a thing does not exist. Runft was the closest we could find; marginally cheaper than elsewhere and the food we ordered was really good. We tried one pasta dish, a rösti with speck, a burger and a flammkuche. All were great. With a couple of drinks it still came to nearly 100 Francs. Our waiter was really friendly and accommodating, humoured my attempts to speak German and engaged in conversation, but beware, as with most restaurants, they don't serve customers tap water - a bottle of mineral...
