Hotel Lötschberg — Hotel in Interlaken

Great Location, Friendly Staff & Useful Living Room My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Lotschberg, Interlaken West in September. We liked the location, the friendly service, comfortable room, delicious breakfast and the living room.

The walk after we got off the train at the Interlaken West Railway station to the hotel was an easy and short one. On the way to the hotel, we passed the Migros Supermarket to our delight.

Mr Beat welcomed us but as it was only around 12 noon, our room wasn't ready. We left our luggage at a corner in the 24/7 living room provided by the hotel. Beat was very helpful in providing us information about both the Lake Thun and Lake Brienz cruises, and suggested that we visit the Giessbach Falls.

This is a hotel with only 18 rooms and the room we got was of a good size and it is very comfortable. There's a living room on the ground floor where dining tables and chairs, coffee and tea, cutlery, wine and beer glasses, dishes, a microwave and an electric kettle are provided for all guests to use whenever they want. There's also a fridge where guests can store the food items they have bought and cards with room numbers are provided to be used as tags on the food. In a separate chiller, a variety of drinks, beer and wine are also provided at a charge but it is a "self service" style where one takes the drink and put the indicated price into the piggy bank voluntarily. I appreciate the trust given by the hotel.

Christian checked us in after we returned from our afternoon adventure. He is a cheerful, warm and pleasant guy who speaks good English. Just like Beat, he was generous with suggestions for dining and shopping.

The breakfast spread was good and able to fill our stomach so well that we were able to skip lunch those 2 days when visiting Bern and Jungfraujoch as time was tight for us. They were able to serve the breakfast punctually at 7 am, so that really helped us as we left as early as 8 am for our fully packed days.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good location and the option of buying food from Migros Supermarket to enjoy in the comfort of the spacious living room of Hotel Lotschberg (without having to wash any...

We stayed one night. The location is a 25 minute walk from Interlaken Ost. The breakfast was good and main attendant (a younger guy) was very nice but the old German lady was not. The second the breakfast was over literally took my coffee from me and told me I had to leave. As I was leaving, I asked her where I could get a glass of water, and she angrily gestured to the service sink. She was downright hostile. As if my interaction with her couldn't get any worse, it did. We were about 15 minutes late leaving the room for check-out. There was a loud knock at the door, so we answered, and it was the Angry German Sau. She yelled at us for being late, and threatened to charge us for a full night. We were literally putting our backpacks onto our backs to leave, but she blocked the doorway and continued to scream at us for being late and disrespectful.||||She went downstairs and our friends in the lobby and heard her cussing us under her breath. We took the stairs and arrived to the lobby a few minutes after she did. I tapped on the desk and said, “See?? We are leaving.” She lost her mind. She had an unbelievable hostile outburst, SCREAMING at us that we needed to “own” that we were late and how disrespectful we were and how sick she was of disrespectful visitors. Her crazy rant lasted 3 minutes and by the end she was yelling “JUST LEAVE" like a lunatic. Several people have written about her hostility. Location friendly! Easy to find! Very near to interlaken west station(walking distance around 250 m). Room was very clean! Reception is not available for 24 hour..We reached very late (around 10.30 pm).but hotel had made arrangement for our room’s key and put the instruction note on door! If you are coming late(after 9 pm), do inform to the hotel management or you will put in trouble for getting your room! Reception staff is very friendly. Hotel has elevator. Reception staff can give you advice regarding paragliding/jaungfrau or attractions in interlaken. Hotel can provide you discount card , which gives discount in public transport/shopping/activity. Make sure you ask for discount card, if they forget to provide one! Every hotel in interlaken gives this kind of discount card. Room was smaller in size but its good for travellers who just wants to rest at night in hotel room! They kept delicious meringue and bottle of soda water as complementary gift in room. There isn’t any waterkettle/microwave in room. But they have picnic area at downstairs, which has awesome dining place along with tea/coffee maker , microwave and kitchen cutleries. Hotel has very nice garden. And they have made arrangements in garden to take dinner while watching awesome view.
