Really pleasant & spacious room. Service was good and breakfast was adequate. Room was clean and beautiully decorated.||||Within walking distance from taichung railway station. Do take note it is taichung railway station not their high speed station. We took the high speed rail from taipei and ended up at a station far from them and had to get uber to pick us up to the hotel... ||The uber driver was telling us that the area we are staying is not as developed, and is considered as "deserted", not the main tourist attraction. Fengjia NM area is more vibrant. When we got down the car, and walked around the neighbourhood, it was indeed not as bustling and shops were all down the whole day. So just note that that's not much shops near to the hotel & it may be a little quiet at night.||||The hotel is also near to taichung bus terminal, which has direct bus to taoyuan airport - overall still a very convenient place to travel to taipei/ taoyuan airport.||||As it is not near to the night market, fengjia, we had to book uber, which cost about 200 twd. So good to just head down 1 night and shop till you drop to minimise the travelling cost. We took a walk to zhongli night market, which is about 2-3km away, as weather was good. ||||But another point about the hotel is that it is near to the famous ice-cream shop named - gong yuan yan ke! so do remember to go over there to get the ice-cream and their souvenirs! We walked past and saw tourists/ locals going over for high tea and snacks. They have 2 shops along the...
Read moreOverall 3rd quarantine experience in Taiwan. First time in this hotel.
Firstly, I would also like to thank Zoey for her professionalism and friendliness while assisting me throughout the stay.
Overall service was good. There’s not much that’s expected during a 15 day mandatory quarantine. The staff were friendly even though everything was communicated through the Line App.
Easy and fast non-contact check-in for quarantine. There’s a specific entry door and elevator for arriving quarantine guests.
The rooms are clean enough, but there were left over crumbs in the corner and edges of the room. Hardwood floors make it quite noticeable.
Floor to ceiling windows allow lots of natural light in during the day time. My room had a balcony but it was restricted for use. The door only opened about 3 inches wide, not enough for any fresh air to circulate. (Could open my window wide open during my previous quarantine stay in Taipei)
3 meals served throughout the day. The food was good, but portion size was small at times. You can also order from UberEats or Foodpanda and they will deliver it to your room during meal times. Lunch (11:00) and dinner (5:30) are served a bit too early. It would also be nice if they provided reusable cutleries so there wouldn’t be as much waste.
Hospital staff came directly to my door on the 12 day of quarantine for a PCR test.
Overall probably the only decent looking quarantine hotel I could find and book...
Read moreWonderful rooms, spacious and with great lighting, themed furniture (quality, their tabletops are planks of wood, not laminate. Pleather items are well kept, not worn in appearance), great amenities with a well-sized mini fridge, non-generic scented shampoo/body wash. We had a corner room, so we faced the intersection. The windows going from floor to ceiling (and the ceilings are relatively tall. It's not grand but it sure feels luxurious for the pricing!)
Main thing for my germaphobe self is that the place is very clean! Linens have been spotless and very comfortable. Bathroom does not have mildew filling up grout lines. Though you can see the dust from outside, it sure isn't inside. The place smells fresh, and is well ventilated without noise.
Service is exceptional as well. Eager to communicate in Chinese and English, and very clear with requests and directions. As we arrived on mother's Day, they gifted my mum a small bouquet of carnations!
Theme follows close to the nearby Miyahara shops and train station themes (all within a 10 min walk). The walk albeit not ideal if you're trying to carry a large luggage on the bumpy sidewalk, but if you don't mind walking in the roads that are not really busy, it's not a problem.
There's a bar along the route to the train station that seems popular with college aged folks if that's something on your list of...
