Great staff, very attentive and nice. But there are mosquitos in the rooms so I got some bites, and the door doesn't close fully so there is no way to stop mosquitos coming in. Also a little tobacco or weed smoke gets in when people smoke on the balcony so it smells bad but the smell is very mild in the room. It impacts the hall and bathroom more. Had to ask for toilet paper but they did then bring it quickly, and it was available in the bathroom downstairs at least. In the fourth floor bathroom there was no soap so people had to bring their own. The bathroom floors are always wet and slippy from the showers. The lockers are tiny and barely fit a laptop so are really just for valuables rather than a bag, which is awkward for a one-night stay where you don't want to have to unpack a lot. The air-conditioning in the room is on a set times so it's more eco-friendly but it's almost too warm to sleep with any blanket over you even when the air conditioner is on overnight. There is a small fan at your bed, and a light, but for both you need to provide your own USB plugs to use them so for most people they're not usable if you want to charge your phone at the same time. I had to charge things off my laptop to be able to use the lamp. The wifi is bad. It could only load the HTML of a basic website I tried to open downstairs. I didn't try using internet in the bedroom so maybe it's okay there. The air-conditioning in the downstairs area is poor so it's very warm there. I didn't try the food. It's on a nice street with places to eat and a 7-Eleven nearby. There's space to dry your clothes if you wash them. The towel they give you doesn't dry you very well but it's so hot that it doesn't matter much. The bed was comfortable. The room gets noisy like in any mixed dorm in a hostel hostel with people snoring and talking but I can't comment on it being any noisier than other places as I use earplugs and headphones to block out sound. The curtain goes all the way around your bed so you have some privacy but on the top bunk the top is completely open so if you sit up you see around the room and the light comes in to your bed. There is also no rail on the top bunk to stop you falling out. It's cheap and the people who work there are really nice and they give you a small lock and a towel but it has to be 1 star for the mosquito bites, temperature...
Read moreHad stayed here at the Panda Lodge 🐼 for many days on my recent trip to Bangkok, there are many things to like. Location is superb and at night beautiful place, mood is of good vibes there, not too far from khaosan or Phra Athit. Should try the restaurant below and don’t have to go far for food, the menu has wide range of delicious Thai or western food and perhaps other cuisine like Myanmar food could be served. Pleasant time and enjoyable service there, the cute staff do a great job and make guests feel at home, many families and couples come by, good for singles too. Enjoy the nights at the bar and sunsets here. The Homestay accommodation has character and great value, working well and tidy, some minor issues to be overlooked. Friendly and helpful folks there are of good company and can advise you further on your travels plans and book transport...
Read moreThe mattress on the bed was a little bit hard and the air conditioning didn't seem to work well, so the room was a bit stuffy and smelly (from having so many people in it)The showers were dirty and moldy and probably in desperate need of renovation. There was no door on the shower cubicle, just a curtain which was not completely opaque. The location is okay and the staff are friendly, but they asked for a 300THB deposit (not the 200 stated) for a keycard I never used. This caused some annoyance at check out, when the staff member kept taking care of every new guest hat came instead of finding and giving back my deposit. Moreover, I was talking to another guest, who was not made to pay the deposit, which seems a bit unfair.I guess it's okay for a one night stay, but it could be great if they fixed up the bathrooms and air...
