My 1-week stay at the Naga Residence was very interesting. It's a newer hotel and is clean with friendly and helpful staff. Because of the other hotel in the area this section of town does have many restaurants & 711 (3-min walking) and shopping (Sena Fest 8-min-w). This place has EXTREMELY fast internet and I LOVE that!!! no stupid wifi passwords and speed caps that my '4 star' hotels had. However that is the extent of the convenience and my list of pros.
Now for the bad, 1) the hotel is generally quiet but for the duration of my stay there were extremely loud and disturbing noises that sound like cutting cement during 8-11am, this happened consistently the whole week. 2) There is NO common area, you won't be able to hang out or mingle with anyone because there is just a small couch at the reception and that's it. 3) Do not disturb means exactly that, but when I tried to sleep in (due to the noise) I got a call because they weren't able to clean my room?? I don't care obviously if I need to I will call them. I was woken up by this and it still makes me angry because the phone is right in front of the bed you can't even ignore it. The biggest turn off was that because it's a small hotel the front desk knew everyone and would mention "oh you've been in your room all day huh" my privacy felt a little invaded because ew none of their business. I couldn't sleep because of the cement cutting and had to try to get rest somehow but you don't see me calling and complaining about the excessive noise. 4) Bed is rock hard firm and my butt is sore after a week (this is just unacceptable for a 3 star hotel) I mean everything that I dislike about this place is due to the inability to get sufficient rest.
Those are the reasons why I took off stars but other things to note are: - -15-min-w from the BTS and they do not have any kind of service to help -Taxis and ubers can't understand the tiny driveway/parking lot and usually drive right past this place making it a hassle to get a ride -Nightlife in the area is more for locals although they would like foreign business but lack any welcome for travelers
Will not book here again, no memorable experience I'm surprised I'm...
Read moreWe stayed at this property for 5 days in April 2018. It is centrally located in Bangkok and most of the famous sight seeings can be reached by public transport from here. The nearest BTS (Bangkok Skytrain) station is Krung Thon Buri is a mere 800m walk from here. You can use it to reach Chatuchak Weekend Market, MBK, Central World, Siam Paragon, Sukhumvit, Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam Market. For 15 bahts you can reach Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Chinatown by the ferry at Sathorn Pier (ask anyone to guide you for it, a small walk which will take you to the other side of Sathorn Pier from where you can take a ferry to the main pier for 5 Bahts) There are bus stops also on the main road which can take you to many places. Suvarnabhumi Airport is far from here around 40 kms, so if you have a flight to take fro here keep approximately 1.5-2 hrs aside for it (The property can help you book a taxi for 500 bahts for Airport and other sightseeing places). For all Pizza fans there's a Dominos Pizza utlet at Senafest which again is just a few metres away from here. For local shopping do try out Klongsan Plaza Market to buy clothes, cosmetics, shoes, local food. This market is not frequented by tourists so you will get a more real experience of local market and the prices are also very reasonable here. It is around 1.3kms and can reach by Tuk Tuk for 30 Bahts.
Coming to rooms they are very neat and clean, soft beds for comfortable sleep, tea/coffee maker, refrigerator, hair dryer and a tv. The rooms look in good shape and are quite contemporary and overall its a value for money.
For all your small food & drink needs there are two 7 Eleven stores just a...
Read moreIt's location is subjective. There are some good street and restaurant food available. It's not busy and the atmosphere is generally safer comparing the bustle of Silom and Sathorn. However I find the balcony which is attached to a Deluxe twin room is riddled with bugs. I opened it expecting some cool breeze and I had a tiny swarm flying in. I closed it and started swatting the little intruders. They are there, believe it. Which sort of defeats the purpose of a adequately sized balcony. I wish they would have submitted a electrical bug contraption to zap them or an exterminator. Granted there are some lovely trees providing shade and singing birds which could explain the bugs. Toilet facilities are adequate though the size is a bit tight. Mini toiletries are provided, which might not be sufficient per 2 baths a day. 2 bottles water replenishes daily. Also in our room we had the nastiest bloat on the side the wall. I'm not sure what it was, I didn't dare touch it but looks like some kind of moisture leak and or fungi. There are no breakfast options, pool within the hotel. But food is plentiful, especially if you are partial to oyster egg omelets there is a truly excellent restaurant just 2 mins walk. And divine soybean, dessert and fried foods abound. Take a 10mins walk along the sidewalk of the hotel and sample the fare. It's not an extensive selection but it's quite delicious and great value for money. And of course IconSiam features tons of food and shopping options just 15mins walk away. 7-11's, Top convenient stores are littered all around. So no lack of late night beer chugging. 🍺😉 And oh ya, we...
