Terrible experience with hotel administration. ||Scheduled to stay from March 19th-24th. Had to depart early on March 20th due to international border crossing concerns due to COVID-19 problems.||On arrival, we advised our receptionist in the change of our departure and she stated we could follow up with Expedia to pursue any form of refund/etc. We checked out March 20th before 8am with the electronic key we had paid a $500 deposit for.||After travelling home, we had to speak to five different Expedia agents, on five different occasions, in order to communicate with the Lucky House department responsible for refunds, etc. ||Ultimately, I spoke with hotel staff directly over the phone. I explained that our early departure was due to COVID considerations and that the receptionist on our arrival had informed us that we could contact Expedia at a later date to pursue a form of hotel credit, refund, etc.||To summarize, I was treated like garbage by the reservation/booking staff. She stated that she did not care that the receptionist gave us incorrect information regarding a refund on arrival. Not only did we not receive any form of apology but I was told that by the agent that since they're "not a 5-star hotel" {a higher level} customer service did not concern them. ||Little aside, my wife speaks Thai, and we could hear the agents talking trash about us in the background during the phone conversation.||I followed up with Expedia afterwards to discuss the...
Read moreUsed to stay at this place many times before probably 3 or 4 years ago and paid 500 baht for a double room and 400 baht for a single at that time. Just checked this place today and surprised to find out the room rate has been raised as much as 100%, over 1000 baht, absolutely unacceptable while the price for the nearby hotels where I also stayed before hasn't changed at all, less than 450 baht. Culprit like this hotel discourages tourists like me from visiting Thailand again. Many places in Asia still cost less than a third of the room rate here and still has much more to offer. Continuing with this ripoff not only from hotel ripoff but also 200 baht ATM withdrawal ripoff and so on, Thailand can rest assure than the best time of Thailand tourism earning is over and the worse situation with less earning from tourism revenue would follow very soon unless Thailand has the necessary massive fund to cope with the shortfall of not only tourism revenue but also the consequences of increasing the jobless due to less and less tourism activities. So it is best not to be too greedy to the extent of slaughtering the goose that lays gold egg or there is no remedy for continuing this...
Read moreA great little hotel just off of khaosan road! The hotel was clean, simple, and comfortable to stay in. The room is a bit on the smaller side, but it was all very cozy! They have a lounge where they serve breakfast and you can use to work in as well. There’s also a pool you can use free of charge in another hotel (I think the same hospitality company owns both). There’s a 7-11 right across the street, and plenty of street food and restaurants to eat from at night. The only thing is that khaosan road is very much a party street full of LOUD LOUD music and beer and laughing gas etc. not for the faint of heart and crowded to walk through. Not only is it full of tourists but also full of locals trying to sell you alcohol, laughing gas, *, and tailored suits. Although the hotel was nice and away from all the noise, the neighborhood was not our scene. Hotel’s staff were all super kind! They have a cleaning schedule which I think is nice (some might not agree). The lounge was nice to work in as well. The elevator is super slow and only allows two passengers. It also always stops on the M floor which is where the...
