Every time I visit Thailand, I go to The One, but last August's event was a disgrace for the Khaosan service industry in particular and Thailand in general. I'm referring to The One Bar, which is located in the center of Khaosan. The pub is entertaining; however, some of the employees are too harsh and rude. I'll leave the image of the personnel being rude and disrespectful to customers up for you to see. During my previous visits to The One, I always enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and lively crowd. However, the incident that occurred last August left a lasting negative impression on me. It is disheartening to witness such disrespectful behavior from a few staff members, tarnishing the overall reputation of both The One Bar and the Khaosan service industry. The pub sells beverage services that are extremely expensive in comparison to nearby services (250 B/unit of water). We agreed to this price and intended to visit and listen to music, but the staff insisted on buying more while we still had water. After we couldn't squeeze it once, another staff member came over and sneered at us while chasing customers away. The figure I referenced in the article is referred to as a guest. When that employee saw our party come by the bar again, he pointed, stared, and spoke poorly of us to his coworkers as if we were viruses. I work in hospitality as well, so I realize that allowing customers to have that negative experience is a no-no if you want to stay in the service sector. I am a customer, and I feel bad for having to endure such treatment. We pay, not beg.
What a disgrace for Thailand's One Khaosan.đđđđ

Read moreIf you're looking for a place that combines a high cover charge with the thrill of being treated like a second-class citizen, "The One at Khaosan" is the undisputed champion. This fine establishment offers the unique experience of paying top dollar to be pushed around like you're in some sort of sadistic game of human pinball, where the only winners are the staff who excel at being rude, hostile, and, dare I say, creatively racist.
Picture this: You and your friends, all dressed to impress, lured in by the clubâs flashy lights and thumping music, only to be met with an ambiance that screams, "Not for you!" The bouncers are like gladiators, but instead of protecting you, their sole mission seems to be making sure you have the worst time possible. Want to stand? Not here. Want to dance? How dare you! Want to enjoy your drink? Only if you enjoy it while being constantly harassed to buy more. It's like theyâve taken the concept of hospitality and thrown it out the window, along with any shred of decency.
The crowning jewel of this nightmarish experience? The staffâs impressive ability to make you feel utterly unwelcome. Their rudeness knows no bounds, and their disdain for non-Western patrons is palpable. Itâs almost as if theyâve turned racism into an art form, and we were unfortunate enough to be their latest canvas.
In short, "The One at Khaosan" is perfect for anyone who enjoys paying a premium to be insulted, shoved, and made to feel like an unwanted intruder in what could easily be described as the most disappointing venue in all of Bangkok. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhereâanywhere else. Youâll...
Read moreWe were 8 people from europe on vacation. And this is our honest review.
Arriving at this bar we paid the entrance fee and were guided to some available tables. The fee included a bottle of drink to each guest. When arriving at our tables their gay employee gave us their drinkâs menu and wanted us to order two big 2-liters cocktail bongs to share. We said that we wanted to start with one and ordered that for 950 baht. The employeâs face turned cocky before he got us the bong. The cocktail bong came to our table and it got worse after he filled our glasses. It turned out that it was only enough for 5 glasses - about 1 liter. We told him about it but he just raised his hand like he doesnât know avout. Due to the language barrier we just waved him away. Sucks so far!
After some time into the night the gay employee had lurked around our spot for a long while waiting for us to order more. He then burged in, threw the menu on the table and almost forced us to order more - because we had two tables he ment that it should be two bongs. We said no and he got angry and went away.
We were ignored by the employees and their manager for the rest of the opening time. My uncle who was with me also got pushed by another employee for no reason. The dancefloor was small and was occupied by other tables. I didnât bother myself to go up there because it was so tightly crowdy with other guests.
The most positive experience we got out of that night was from the dancers and the dj duo. The guy with the mic was super friendly and the dancers were super cool! Shout...
