Lucky House — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

This was our 3rd visit to the Junior House and it just gets better every time! Jeff, Tartar, Fine and the rest of the staff always make us feel right at home and like we’re part of the family. The place just has a wonderful vibe that makes us and other travelers keep returning. We always make new friends here hanging out in the common area with like-minded travelers also returning for the same reasons. Our 7 year old son always looks forward to playing with Jeff & Fine’s children and as we’ve visited when he was 3, 5 & now 7. This time we traveled as a group of 5 and rented 2 rooms for 4 nights in total. We arrive late (around 11:00pm) on Jan 28, spent the night, rented scooters (went to Pai) and arrived back Feb 2 and left on Feb 5. As always, we never need to worry about renting scooters through the Junior House as Tartar is very reputable and the scooters are always reliable. Tartar is always very helpful in booking our tours, transportation, etc. He takes the time to sit with you and go through the options to find what is best for you and never pressures you in to booking anything that isn’t. This time my wife & son went ziplining, which they really enjoyed. The place is on the north-central part of the Chiang Mai square, so everything is walkable (temples, markets, 7-11s, all kind of restaurants, etc.). The rooms are also nice and clean with free bottled water, but the real enjoyment of the place is the common area to relax after a fun day around Chiang Mai whether its in the main lobby or the rooftop terrace watching the sunset. Llegamos a este hostal, después de estar 20 días viajando por Tailandia y de hospedarnos en sitios de precio similar. Cuando llegamos a la ubicación que teníamos, resulta que no era el lugar en el que nos hospedábamos, si no que teníamos que ir a otro edificio (no estaba muy lejos, un par de minutos caminando). Le preguntamos a la recepción si era un sitio similar al que nosotros habíamos contratado, y su respuesta fue que si. Cuando llegamos al edificio correspondiente nos llevamos una sorpresa nada satisfactoria. La entrada es lo más parecido a un garaje desolado. El personal es poco amigable, no dicen ni hola. Hay que pagar un depósito por la llave (lo veo normal en un hostal (100bths) y otro depósito por las toallas (100 baths cada una) toallas que son mantas, no son toallas como tal. La habitación si, se parece a la de las fotos, pero la limpieza deja muchísimo que desear. El baño bastante sucio (adjunto fotos), las tuberías huelen que flipas (de mal), el lavamanos pierde agua, por lo que se te hace una piscina en el baño cada vez que te lavas los dientes. La supuesta terraza que hay, es una despensa mas que una terraza (adjunto fotos) El desayuno es un pan de molde con una tostadora y con un bote de mantequilla que huele a queso y mermelada con pinta de que te va a entrar diarrea (comprobado) Hay ventanas, como la del baño, que no se cierra, por lo que entran todos los bichos, pero vamos con el olor a tubería que sale del baño, vas a tener la puerta cerrada todo el día y noche El supuesto chill out que hay en la azotea, ni es chill out ni es nada (adjunto fotos), por supuesto el jacuzzi que hay en las fotos es una manguera verde. Si alguien encuentra el jacuzzi por favor avisarme.

Sinceramente, no entiendo de donde salen tantas reviews positivas, no se de donde salen las fotos tanto del chill out como de la fachada que hay en las reviews de google, por qué no hay ninguna fachada de ese estilo por aquí. Después de esta estancia, te recomiendo que te pienses muy seriamente si de verdad te quieres gastar aquí el dinero. Espero que esta review ayude a la gente y que no os pase lo que a nosotros. I booked this through Agoda, spent a night and wrote a review but hotel paid Agoda to remove my fair review. This guesthouse is infested by mosquitos as lots of open water in the lobby area. My bed had a huge broken spring sticking out in the middle and I read this in multiple reviews. Bed sheets are old and brown color. Room has a sign saying: "if your body liquid stains the sheets we charge 500 baht" That bed sheet is worth probably only 20-30 baht as a new. Also front desk guy takes 300 baht as deposit. They even don't take that much deposit at five star hotels. Stay away from Junior guesthouse and avoid a big headache, trust me it is not worth. Their review score is high because they pay to remove...
