I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Pissamorn House, and it was truly a memorable experience. What sets this place apart is Pissamorn herself, a lovely 73-year-old lady who is the heart and soul of the guesthouse.
Host: Pissamorn is one of the most delightful and engaging hosts I’ve ever met. She’s fully talkative, always ready to share fascinating stories and provide helpful advice about exploring Chiang Mai. At the same time, she is strict about her policies and finances, which ensures the place is run smoothly and professionally. Her approach strikes a perfect balance—she makes you feel welcome while maintaining a clear sense of order.
Ambiance and Cleanliness: The guesthouse is spotless, with a cozy and traditional charm that reflects the culture of Chiang Mai. Every detail is well thought out, from the décor to the facilities. It’s clear that Pissamorn takes great pride in maintaining her property.
Service: Pissamorn’s helpful nature extends to every aspect of her service. Whether you need recommendations for local attractions or help organizing your itinerary, she’s always ready to assist. Her local knowledge is second to none, and her advice added so much value to my trip.
Policies: As much as she is warm and welcoming, Pissamorn is equally firm about her policies. While some might find it strict, I personally appreciated her clear communication—it ensures a fair and comfortable experience for all guests.
Value for Money: Given the quality of the accommodations, the central location, and the personalized service, staying at Pissamorn House is a fantastic deal. While she’s particular about money, every baht is well worth it for the experience you receive.
Overall: Pissamorn House is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience in itself. Pissamorn’s personality and dedication make it feel like a home away from home. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai who appreciates a well-run, charming, and culturally...
Read moreThis is a fabulously appointed guesthouse. When you come off the laneway, you quickly realise that you are stepping into a beautifully furnished house, but that's the least of its attractions.
Location-wise, it is great for the Sunday night market, which is almost literally outside your front door and a lot of the major temples are also only a short walk away, Wat Pra Singh, the most well-known, is only a couple of minutes away and, in fact, this is as good a direction as you can give to a taxi driver - they all know where it is and it's a 2-minute walk from there.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and well-fitted out. Wifi was better than what I've experienced in more expensive hotels.
From the start, you are made to feel very welcome by Pissamorn. She will want to know what time you want to have breakfast because she prepares this in advance, including toasted home-made bread and jam (plus fresh fruit and eggs done as requested) - the simple things are excellent if they are done well!
She is also a great source of information about what to do and see in Chiang Mai and, if you want to organise tours, she can be on the phone for you organising a decent rate. She made us feel very at home and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or book again. A...
