We had a really nice week at the hotel. The food was great. Special thanks to all of the staff. They were all so nice and friendly. We also liked the facility.
We stayed at building B and were a little disappointed. The room was clean but it was not well maintained (especially the bathroom). We also had many little ants in the room and the room had a certain weird minor smell. Most of the time when we wanted to take a shower (in the morning or evening) there was no hot water. The last day the hot water was brown. We hope that they will solve the water issue soon. Although we didn’t bring this issue up with the front desk.
The resort is really cosy, full off pleasant staff which always greet you with a warm smile. We had 4 different swimming pools we could use, all had pool bars that had a variety of different drinks. The pools were also very clean. Each morning before the opening time of the pool, we saw pool boys cleaning and maintaining them. The morning breakfast had a wide variety of food. The “international”/western breakfast food options were constant. While the 4-5 local Thai dishes were each day different (well they rotated each day). It was also nice that they promote not to waste food. In the lower restaurant (the one near the front desk) they also showed how they try to minimise food waste and how they reuse it for compose in the garden.
Calling the front desk, they always quickly helped and sent someone up if we ran out of toilet paper. The room service was also quite good and quite cheap. They surely attended very well to our evening pizza craving after a day long bloat trip around neighbouring tourist attractions.
The nearest beach is Kata beach which is very nice. A short 5 minutes walk away, although the way back the resort is located on a steep hill which is not too much fun 😅. But the hotel offers free shuttle service to the beach, so for the older generation, going to the beach is not a problem. On the way there, there are 5 restaurants all located in the same outdoor area. Check Google Maps. They have very cheap local Thai food and have very kind staff. We always ate there lunch/dinner. Recommended. The hotel room also had a beach bang with beach towels, which came in very handy, especially if you’re travelling light.
When checking out, the front desk boys even carried our luggage to our taxi and waved goodbye with warm smiles.
Although the rooms were not exactly 4-stars (I guess it depends in which building you will be staying at), the staff and other facilities make up for it. After all you are here for the beaches, great local food and summer vibes more than the hotel room.

Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights. The location is the only plus point here as it's walking 5 mins to the beach. Everything else is just a big minus in the review. Even though the food was good, the staff is unable to handle basic ordering for room service or at the restaurant. The staff lacks basic English skills. It is very hard to communicate with them though this didn't happen anywhere else during our long stay in Thailand.
Housekeeping doesn't understand where to clean and what personal items and clothes not to touch. There was stale food leftover by the previous guests in the mini bar fridge. The housekeeping didn't send anyone to take it out & throw it. Even though we arrived only 15-20 mins earlier, they blamed us that we kept that in the fridge and denied taking it out. How is this happening at such a large hotel? After 6-7 requests and hours of arguments they picked the stale food & threw it without even cleaning the fridge. This was disgusting.
The biggest problem was during our checkout. The staff didn't send anyone for checkout to check the mini bar or take the luggage. They have very limited staff and that too get's into arguments with guests. No one was willing to come to the room & take the luggage. After 2-3 calls (again this time) the receptionist sent some before scolding us that we didn't keep the room door open. (What in the world is this?) There's no door stopper, no ring or bell at the door. The only way is a small knock. Guests won't be able to hear that with the TV or music on, or if you are talking to someone. Then the receptionist (Vishu) started arguing with us again. He raised his voice and blamed us for not opening the door.
Vishu is by far the most unprofessional hotel staff we have ever encountered. The person is angry & volatile. He started shouting at us without realizing the mistake & the situation that too in the lobby infront of other guest. This was pathetic. Not only was if embarrassing but also shows the lack of professionalism ethics and low level of hospitality.
I would have given a minus rating just for this one person.
The staff lacks service standards that are being followed all over Thailand & elsewhere. Lack of proper skills to communicate in English is also a big problem. Abd then they don't accept mistaken which were a human error at their end. Vishu - personally should be fired from his job. The person needs to leave the hospitality industry if he doesn't understand customer service & retention.

Read moreI was excited after booking a “Deluxe Bungalow” at this hotel. The setting looked very lush and green, and it certainly was. The hotel overall is aging somewhat and while the bungalow was plenty roomy, it certainly had some drawback. The bathtub outside was rather odd, don’t see that in more modern hotels anymore and unless you have cold water, it seems an odd choice for having a bath. The bathroom was plenty large, bigger really than it needed to be. The breakfast was included in the room rate but I don’t eat breakfast yet I couldn’t choose the bungalow without it. Well, I had a look at the buffet and saw that I wasn’t missing anything. I only drink coffee in the morning and tried both the Americano and Espresso from the Nescafe machine provided. They both were horrible and I found a coffee shop down the road to have my daily coffee fix. I had read that the hotel was up a steep hill … but it is a rather short hill.
The biggest problem with the bungalow was a bad smell that would come and go at different times of the day. After day 2 of this, I got someone from the maintenance staff in to look at the A/C since I thought it might be some dead animal decomposing up there. Nothing was found. But the next morning, lying in bed I suddenly smelled a very strong scent of sewage and concluded that someone up the hill (the bungalows are all set on slopes) had probably flushed their toilet and there is a leak in a pipe under the wood floor of the bungalow that spills out some sewage. Older hotels in Thailand are on septic system rather than being hooked into a city sewer and these system tend to fail sooner or later and are very expensive to modernize. So, avoid bungalow 447 because it smells bad. Now, this might be a problem with other ones as well.
Another issue was the Wifi access. There were 2 options @PeachHill and @PeachHill5g … I got onto one of them and then that would freeze up after 2-5 minutes and I would have to switch to the other one to reconnect to the internet. This made booking travel, etc. rather difficult due to these interruptions. And imagine trying to watch a show on my laptop with these constant interruptions. I talked to the front desk but they had, of course, no clue. Now, I do have a MacBook Pro from 2012, not sure that figured in, but I haven’t had this problems at other hotels in Thailand. I should also note that the gym is rather poorly equipped in regards to machines … the one that is shown in the photo of the gym on their site is no...
