We stayed at the hotel for 10 days. I want to leave a real review and warn visitors. The hotel itself is quite clean, there are fish swimming on the ground floor, you can feed them, the staff is friendly and responsive to requests. Positive aspects: the room is clean, there are no ants like in another hotel, good sound insulation (we didn’t hear the neighbors), you can see Big Buda on the hill, there is a shuttle to the beach and back every hour, breakfast doesn’t change much from day to day, but it’s varied you can (order different types of cooked eggs, for example), there is also a children’s room that helps couples eat, while entertaining the child. The playroom is good, the child has something to occupy himself with (although I would change the set of books, they are very strange), I did not see any animation there. In the evenings there is a cartoon show and free 🍿. A large wet area for children with a sandbox, toys, a small pool and a larger one. The hotel is located between two beaches. Kata Beach is pleasant, although it is difficult to find shade without buying sun loungers. Karon Beach is completely different, I recommend going there in the afternoon to watch the sunset. There are a lot of things around, including restaurants and shops, massages. Negative points: they clean every day, but every time I asked for a towel for the child, the floor was not washed perfectly, stains are visible. At breakfast there is no oatmeal for children, a children’s corner made of plastic cutlery and cookies. The hardest thing is the ROAD from the hotel to anywhere, a very rare climb, it doesn’t take long to walk, but it’s very difficult, especially with children. Be prepared to pump up your buttocks; once again you won’t go anywhere. Very strong chlorination of the water in the children’s pool, after a long stay our son vomited all night from this water, we never went there again. The hotel should also establish rules for the use of the children’s area by small children! Parents should use special diapers for toddlers. Watching a baby walk with dirty swimming trunks (from which ** comes out) into the sandbox and pool is very unpleasant to take your child there afterwards! The covering of the children's area requires repair, and there is also a sewer smell. When we came to the children's pool, there were few sunbeds, or the sunbeds were dirty, the food and dishes were not put away, it was not pleasant to sit there. The adult area is better. The food at the hotel is also average, I didn’t want to eat extra unless I was too lazy to go down from the hotel to the restaurant. There is no children’s menu for kids, although the hotel is family-friendly (nuggets, burgers, fries are not for a child’s stomach). The hotel has some work to do.I would not return to this hotel for that...
Read moreFirstly I travel a lot around the world with a high status for Accor, I have never been dissatisfied with a stay before. I’ve stayed here many years ago before Novotel took it over and it as great. So to come back and be so disappointed was a big surprise. Also overheard 2 other families at checkpoint of similar feedback on their experience. The place needs a face Lift the kids pool area is well past its time.
Firstly we booked the ultimate package for the kids, which promised big things. Such as their own checking (broken) Lego setup in room which was a small box of Lego for 1 kid and nothing for the others. We had just come from another hotel with kids package and it was incredible.
On checkin, they tried to only give us couple of vouchers for the kids activities even though I clearly had confirmation emails with what was included (they later apologised and said it was their mistake) but they made it a 30 minute waste of time and the desk manager was rude about it.
Our room wasn’t ready even at checkin time so we were left waiting (not a big deal). Rhe the room there was a letter thanking me for my status with accor and offering a 4pm checkout time. Which later was charged 2500 even though there was availability.
The kids club was so disappointing and dis organised. The VR was good both they only had 1 staff to run kids club and VR. So we had trouble booking times in. We we’re refused discounts for Accor plus a bunch of times. Breakfast was average, the unlimited ice cream we had as part of about package seems to be a problem every time we asked (only had it twice for the stay).
We extended our trip due to my son being in hospital and they charged 2000 more a night than I could book on Accor website. Then tried to charge 2500 for late checkout. Also the sneaky took my credit card and processed the traction in my currency which cost 3.7% about 3000 more in fees. I caught them the second time and had it reversed.
To be honest it just felt like it was run extremely poorly and focused on charging for everything even if we had already paid for it. At 9500 a night it’s just way out of price range for the service we received. When I talked to the staff about the way it’s run it’s clear something isn’t right, the manager walks around most the time and felt like staff were...
Read moreOur recent stay at Novotel Phuket Kata Avista was nothing short of wonderful, especially for a family vacation. When traveling with our kids, we always look for family-friendly hotels that offer amenities like a water playground, and Novotel Phuket Kata Avista did not disappoint.
The water playground was a huge hit with our kids, providing them with hours of entertainment and fun. It’s always a relief as parents to find a hotel that can keep the little ones happily occupied, and this feature alone made our stay incredibly enjoyable. The playground is well-maintained, safe, and perfectly designed for children to splash around and have a great time.
Beyond the water playground, Novotel Phuket Kata Avista offers spacious and comfortable family rooms that gave us plenty of space to relax after a day of exploring. The rooms were clean, modern, and equipped with everything we needed to feel at home. For me, I just typically do not like hotel room floors that are tiled as they don’t really give a lux feel and they get dirty easily. Nonetheless, the hotel staff were very accommodating, ensuring that our stay was smooth and pleasant.
The dining options at the hotel were another highlight. The food was delicious, with a good variety of choices that catered to both adults and children. Whether we were having breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the quality of the food and the service we received were consistently excellent.
The location of the hotel is also ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions like Kata Beach. It was convenient to explore the local area and return to the comfort of the hotel afterward. The hotel’s proximity to the beach and other attractions made it easy to plan our days and enjoy the best of what Phuket has to offer.
Overall, Novotel Phuket Kata Avista is an ideal destination for families looking for a relaxing and fun-filled vacation. With its excellent amenities, friendly staff, and prime location, we would highly recommend this hotel to any family traveling to Phuket. We’ll definitely consider staying here again on our next trip...
