New remodel is good looking but less efficient. I dont know who thought this out but the old room lay out was better. Some of the new remodels have retained the chair configuration, eliminated the couch and I imagine would be better. Power points at the lamps by the end tables for only the lamps. It would have been a no brainer to put a two outlet receptacle at each. Mutiple light switches that are poorly placed and silly lighting. Old rooms had nice lamps and dimmers. Old rooms had 3 chairs and room for them. New room has an office chair that always leans back and a large useless sofa that hogs up the space in the room.
Internet is the worst of any hotel in SE Asia. If you have critical business, take your laptop across the street to Nana Plaza and see if a bar will give you their wifi code. So sloooooooooooooooooooooow, not to mention getting kicked off and having to log in thru some portal multiple times a day.
Good breakfast and good check out times.
Could use more channels on the cable TV. Not the best selection.
Location Location Location.
Just had another stay. This room had more plugs by the lamps on the nightstand. Don't know if it came that way but noticeable.
Internet still the worst. Seemed to have to log in more. Still impossible to do banking as the connection unstable and slow. FB comes in very sketchy at best, can't go to links friends share and good luck loading photos. Nice to be in Bangkok Air lounge where their internet is fast and I can get caught up on two weeks of stuff in less than an hour.
I don't recommend using AGODA or any 3rd party booking agency to book this property. Each time I have used Agoda, (3x) I have been given what I would deem a dungeon room with a view of a wall. The savings on Agoda did not justify the view, though stated on the Agoda site, city view. A recent booking I ended up over paying on Agoda. I booked what I expected to be one of the newer renovated rooms that goes for 1690 baht and would have saved maybe 15 bucks on the booking, however when I arrived, I was given a 1490 baht room that resulted in me losing about 25 dollars on the booking. Still trying to recover that.
Follow up: After spending an hour filling out a form to recoup cash only to find out the form only applies before staying, I was able to get a guy on chat. I told him it would be about 25 bucks to break even and he gave me only 20 dollars of cash to be used in the future on their site, however it has an expiration of December so it is...
Read moreThis is a strange hotel being located directly opposite the infamous Nana Plaza. Enough said so, like me, the clientele are predictable. Having said that, its quite large with all the facilities you might expect. The rooms and corridors are pretty good and clean; the shower works fine and a few basic toiletries are provided. The aircon works to the extent that you should really turn if off now and again and there is a sizeable safe just in case you want to meet a new and interesting friend which to discuss Marks and nuclear fission in the comfort of your own room late at night. It does come with a few quirks though. Breakfast is generally included and you get a dated voucher for breakfast at reception. OK if you are staying one night only, but a total pain if staying longer as you have to go to reception every evening to get the voucher for the following morning. Ask for three (dated) vouchers because you are saying three night? No Chance and no explanation other!! Minus one smiley face for that.Pretty shambolic at check in with one very stretched and impatient person doing everything, and getting sent to a room where the toilet had been removed and a new one was sitting in the middle of the room. Poor check-in lady had to deal with giving me a different room - an a new d id card and breakfast voucher and welcome drink voucher and so on , all with the new room number on it. Breakfast itself is OK first time round but totally the same every day and the atmosphere is the large-ish breakfast room is bordering on morbid - All tables of four, each occupied by one fat crotchety old man( like me) all sitting in the same direction - but like an examination hall and just as rigid. My advice is eat and get out pdq.Oh well; that's Thailand for you.All in all, a pretty decent hotel for a pretty decent price. I...
Read moreA very pleasing hotel. from the moment I checked in and left the staff were kind and always helpful. The hotel is near all amenities and entertainment areas so you do not have to travel far for night life and night shopping if you do not want to. The Nana hotel rooms are lovely to stay in and the air conditioning system is very quiet. There are toiletries in each room and towels for you and guests as it is a guest friendly hotel if you wish a friend to come over for a drink(s) or chat(s) in your room. The cleaning staff do a very high standard of cleaning and clean every day to rid the hotel of any hot weather bugs or flies which might creep in due to the amount of wood furniture the hotel has in the building. Room service is always available but I think the prices of some food on the room service list should be a bit lower.. The toilet / bathrooms have showers and baths so you can choose how to wash. Security is of a high standard at this hotel and they make you feel safe and secure while staying at this hotel. The TV channels are good but only 82 compared to some hotels that have 150 channels but who wants to be watching tv in your room all day. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel a lot and they make a great coffee in the cafe area where you can seat and relax. Lastly my favourite thing at this hotel was the breakfast which is included in the price of your stay at this hotel. This hotel provides a top quality breakfast. I did not miss a day as the breakfast was cooked well and ate well. The high quality of food and amount of choice was perfect. I only wish they could cook omelettes like they do in a 5 star restaurant (get the omelettes cooked right for that top standard) but it is still...
